When do you ask for a refund?
So we have a few packages that were ordered in late November that we haven't received yet. One got close to a neighobring post office and then ended up at a sorting facility (not the one it came from).
I know things are crazy and the storms will make it worse but, they just say in transit, and have been in transit for 2-4 days (depending on the package).
When do I call it a day and ask for a refund? It will be 3 weeks this weekend.

I have a lot of that going on. Many were ordered Black Friday or Nov 30. DD has seen packages city-hop all across the midwest. We have also had many where the only activity is the label was created. Then 2 weeks later, it arrives. I think it depends on how much you want it, or can you find or get a duplicate in time. The one that went to another sorting facility may make it soon. Kohls has been bad this year and it becomes really tricky if you have earned or used Kohls cash.

It wasn't Kohls - those items I ordered around Black Friday came quickly...
I will wait until after Christmas and in the meantime replace the items as I have no hope in them getting here (even though they are so close).

Re: When do you ask for a refund?
Will the store even give you a refund at this point? Or will they blame the carrier and say it's out of their hands?

They have to give a refund to a consumer who doesn't receive their goods they purchased. And if they tried to say they couldn't, I would dispute with CC. Most carriers have automatic insurance (UPS, Fedex), but not USPS.

Yeah I was just curious how that worked. I mean they did their part- it's not their fault the post office is a disaster And then what happens if they refund you and the item shows up?

I have had this happened with Amazon. Th hey refunded me, and the charged me again after it showed up. The package was lost in transit for probably a month or longer...

I've had lost packages before from Target. They usually just resend. Once the original order arrived to and they told me to keep or donate the extras.
