never did, My sil gave my nephew a bottle in bed since he was 11 months old and he now has to have FOUR teeth pulled due to horriable bottle rot!! DD gets a bottle be4 bed then i brush her teeth n put her to bed.

It's bad if they fall asleep on the bottle and it sits on their teeth all night

But if they are drinking their morning milk in a high chair or drinking it in the crib- how do the teeth know the difference?
I think they say if they are lying down the milk can pool on their teeth & sit there and that's what's bad for the teeth...does that even make sense? KWIM - different from if they are sitting up more to drink it.
I personally don't give it in crib b/c I'm neurotic and don't wash DD's sheets enough ( ) to want her bottle dripping milk drips all over her crib!
My DD is also 16 mos old and still wants me to giver her her bottle...she holds her sippy cups and everything else...a bottle she still wants fed to her which I sort of love b/c it's the only time she will sit still and snuggle with me. So the crib thing has never even been an option for me...if it were though I still wouldn't do it. I'd put her in the high chair or something instead.

I agree. I gave my kids their morning bottle in their crib since they were about 4 months old on a boppy(I have twins.) They are 3 now and have no issues with their teeth. I did not do it at night. Oh another bonus-they love their cribs and will stay in them playing and talking until 10AM sometimes!

never ever! my niece had terrible bottle rot due to taking the bottle in the crib. she used to look at herself in the mirror & say that she wasn;t pretty because of her ugly teeth...very sad coming out of a 3 year old's mouth.

Never.
I remember reading that if they lay down flat while drinking, it can predispose them to ear infections. I think my ped has even said that too.

agreed
she is talking about morning milk not evening bottle. Also a 5 month old, not a 1 year old with teeth.
If DS wakes early, he gets a bottle in the crib. He may fall back to sleep or it may just buy me 20 minutes.

Personally, I have never done it with either of my children and don't plan to if I have another unless there are some extenuation circumstances.

I never did. Like others, for one, I didn't want milk dripping in the crib. And, I also always liked to hold DS when he had a bottle. It was my gaurenteed cuddle time. Even when he was down to just the one bottle before bed, I still liked to hold him in my lap.

We never did with my youngest 2, they hated the crib sooo much that whenever they woke up they wanted out and a bottle wouldn't help.
We ususally put them in the FP rocker and gave them the bottle to hold since they also had horrible refulx.
