When do you think houses will start to come on the market?

We listed our old house last February, and noticed that more and more was available everyday after that. I think it picks up once everyone is all done with the holidays.

Towards the end of January you'll see it pick up. Spring and Fall are the busiest time of year for home sales.

Our realtor says right after the super bowl the market picks up. I hope she's right because we need new inventory to check out!

A friend of mine is a realtor, and she said that the market "is what it is" right now. More people are WAITING to try to sell their homes because of how much the resale values have gone down. Also, a lot are being taken off the market because people are just not getting offers even close to their asking prices.
For instance, the house next door to us was on the market for $415 last summer. The highest offer they got back then was $350. Its off the market, but if they were to try to put it back on, their realtor suggested an asking price of only $325!!!!! Needless to say, they are one of the ones waiting for prices to go back up a bit. Sorry to be a downer

yup..more people are holding on until the market pics up unless they HAVE to sell.

Well, it starts to pick up the end of January/Early February but the real season kicks into high gear in March.
