I hinted at it. He really wanted me to move in with him. I was sick of long distance but didn't want to move cross country without being engaged. he kind of knew that. The actual proposal and timing was a surprise. I didn't think it would happen for months.

Like many of the other ladies said, we had talked about getting married, but we were pretty young (24) so I wasn't in a "rush".

we had talked about it, but he told me that i was goign to have to wait until he changed jobs and stuff. i was looking forward to a christmas proposal, but i was blown away by a perfect proposal in May.

We both knew we were getting married by our 3rd month together- so when we went back East and he met my family, I knew he was going to ask my Dad's permission. But we didn't get engaged until two months later and I had no idea.

We had talked about it for a while. I knew bought or was paying for a e-ring bc I saw a receipt from a jeweler. But I was totally shocked/surprised when he actually did it.

We had been dating for 7 years on December 5, 2004. I said if I didn't get a proposal (I didn't care about the ring so much), then I was moving out. I don't know that I would have left him completely, but I was willing to move out.

He proposed on December 18th. Close call

I hinted.....all the time! I knew it was coming but didn't know when. He did everything in his power to make sure it was a surprise, and that meant asking my Dad for permission but not telling my Mom about it!

We talked about getting married almost from the start. We both knew we were "the ones".
Of course, when DH send me a link with a picture of e-ring asking me if I like that style, I knew something was up.

At first we were kind of going to move in together and already started looking for an apartment but when I told my parents about it, my Dad asked me "what the young man's intentions were" and I thought to myself "hmm, what are his intentions exactly?" So, I told DH that I will only move in with him if we get engaged. I was kind of hoping that he will propose on our first dating anniversary, which is April 27th and I very gently hinted at that, telling him that he has till our first anniversary to pop the question. However, he jumped the gun and proposed on March 2nd.

I did know something was going on when he planned an Atlantic City weekend and came to pick me up with a new haircut in a freshly washed car.

P.S. I also wanted the wedding to be an April 27th but DH was completely against that also. He thinks everything should have it's own separate date. I still joke sometimes that he ruined everything for me by proposing too early and not wanting to get married on our anniversary. I really wanted April 27th to be a triple whammy

My DH is the BIGGEST Procrastinator in the World. We probably still wouldnt be married if it wasnt for me. We had been together for 8 years and had a daughter and he still hadnt asked! So i had to insist on him asking or i was walking.

we talked about it and he knew I wanted to get married. He can't keep a secret so he told me when he found the diamond he wanted. I knew it was coming but was surprised when the actual proposal came.

We discussed marriage and casually looked at rings..he also ended up proposing sooner than I thought..I was totally surprised!!
