when the baby looks like dh...
and people keep going on and on how the baby looks nothing like you...how does this make you feel? I am hating it right now. I think its so annoying and people just dont stop drilling with it. I say "I know she looks like dh". I want to respond "maybe shes not mine"!

I know how you feel. SOme people say that Sara looks just like DH and nothing like me. Shje does look like me she just has DH's eyes

 out of my three kids only one looks like me and people say that to me all the time. i just respond with "thank god i have a good looking husband" and i know my kids are cute so i don't care if they look like me or not!

OMG my MIL loves to rub this in my face. His whole family insists that she looks nothing like me, when she does resemble me. Yes, you can tell she is mine, however right now DH's features are more dominant. It makes me so mad.
I always say, well at least he know's that she is his and not the mailman's.

I agree...dd is beautiful but I am unsure what people want me to say when they say she looks nothing like me. Its not like they are saying she has cute cheeks lik dh or nice eyes like dh they are saying she looks nothing like you. Honestly, its coming mostly from his family thats why its annoying me. My family thinks she looks like my deceased father (squinty eyes).

It drove me nuts!
And now my DS looks just like me- and I hear it all the time- Complete strangers walk up to us- amazed how much DS looks like me
Somehow my MIL- still sees her family  and whenever people comment on DS looking like me- she disagrees with me- and yet it still pisses me off- (even though I know damn well shes wrong!)
Babies change so often- You'll see!

DS is 5, and from the day he was born, he has looked EXACTLY like DH. I mean, I will be out with my husband (without the kids), and we will get stopped by people we don't know, saying, "You must be Max's dad. He looks EXACTLY like you!" It never really bothered me. As I tell people, "It's a good thing my husband is so good looking. That's why I married him! ) FYI: DD looks EXACTLY like me! Poetic justice!

Well, considering I've never heard the words, "Wow, Rachel, she really looks like you!" or "Rachel, she really has your _________(Fill in the blank)." I can attest to just how crappy it makes me feel. I mean, come on, lie to me or something. And, I look at my baby pictures, and she's ALL me. I think I should start carrying my baby photos around and when people say she looks like JT, just hand them a picture and ask, "But DOES SHE?"

DS is DH's clone. He looks exactly like him. I am ok with it because he is such a good baby like I was. DH was extremly colic. I'd rather him take after me that way I do hope he at least gets my eye color. So far they are still blue.

People tell me all the time how my son looks "just like his dad." I have even heard "Well, John no blood test needed for that one! " (Irish men think they are funny)
I don't see it so I lways just yes them to death.

DS only has my eyes, thats it! It never really bothered me. I felt in someways he did look like me and I just focused on that even though he is a spitting image of his father.

I get this all the time too, My IL's love it! DD looks like DH now, but she looks exactly like me when i was a baby. It really doesn't bother me.
I tell people "Ya she does look all like DH, I am still waiting for the maternity test results"
I either get a puzzled look or a chuckle.

I've noticed that it is mostly the ILs that are saying it looks ljust like DH.
The other day my MIL said, I was looking at a picture of Jiavana and noticed how long her eye lashes were"
So I said, "Hey that might be the only feature she has from me."
(I have really long eye lashes and people always comment on them)
MIL says, "No, my family has them too"
Ummm...no. They really don't. Why can't I get a little credit for her eye lashes???
I really hope that has she changes and grows she turns into a mini me.

I know the feeling...Ive heard it many times but the weirdest comment was from my one neighbor who actually said to me "They look nothing like you. Were you even there?" Meaning ? was I present at their birth? conception? Whatever the case, I said "I guess its better they look like him than the mailman" What else can you say? I always find it interesting to see where the resemblances lie but I'd never say something that makes the parent feel like their own children dont look like them, even if they don't.

My DD looks exactly like her dad - its constantly drilled into me from family and strangers  I swear we are shopping in the store and someone will almost always say "wow - now she looks alot like her dad". I laugh it off but frankly - i can't see one single physical trait that she has of me - except well - one thing 
She does look alot like my husband - its the truth - i really can't deny it so i just laugh and say "well - the next one is going to look like me!" lol
