When you are an overnight guest in someone's home...
Do you strip the sheets on the day that you leave so that the homeowner doesn't have to?
I always strip the sheets (as opposed to making the bed) because I know that the person who lives there is going to want to wash the sheets anyway. I figure why make the bed if they are just going to have to take it all apart.
Just curious to know what everyone else does. I have found that not everyone does this as we just had my MIL and DH's grandmother over for the weekend and they made the beds... now I have to take them apart to wash the sheets!

Honestly, I never even thought to strip the sheets.
I always make the bed because I dont want to leave it all messed up even though I know they will wash them anyways.

Nope--never have done that. I just make the bed.
Who knows whether or not the host will have an opportunity to wash the sheets immediately? I wouldn't want them to have an eye sore like that in a guest room or a bed all stripped.

When I stay at your house I promise to not have sex on your sheets.
I always ask if they would like me to strip the bed for them.

Re: When you are an overnight guest in someone's home...
i don't know anyone with a spare bedroom. if i've ever been an overnight guest, it's always been on the couch... so i would leave things folded neatly on the edge of the couch

Re: When you are an overnight guest in someone's home...
At my parents house at the beach, I strip and usually wash.
At a friend's house, I'd probably make the bed...

Yes I always ask before I take them off though - for example at my FIL's house I will ask DH's stepmom and sometimes even throw them in the wash for her...sometimes she says to leave them though...

Yes, I strip the sheets always. Depending on how well I know the host, I often throw the in the wash for them too.
And anytime we've had guests stay with us, they strip the sheets when they leave as well.

Re: When you are an overnight guest in someone's home...
I'd prefer if my guests leave everything on the beds so I generally do the same. I don't always get a chance to do big loads of laundry after having guests leave, so I'd rather just do it myself when I have the time. At MILs I strip the bed because I know she prefers that.

Re: When you are an overnight guest in someone's home...
I just realized after looking at the poll results and some of the responses, that it really is all about how you were raised. My mom always stripped sheets for people when we stayed at their houses. Now I see that for most people, that is not what they do!
Although I was surprised to see a few say that they think it's weird to do it!... because for me it is completely normal!
