did you notice any change in behavior? DD started sleeping in a big girl bed on Monday night. She just turned 3. She asked for it and is very excited to be in a big girl bed. The first night she had a hard time because the bed wasn't where the crib was so we moved it and she slept better. She stays in it in the morining until we get her and she naps good. But she's been very emotional this week. Everything makes her cry. Most of the time its nothing that warrants crying. Besides she's not a usually a "crier."

I keep asking her whats wrong and she won't tell me. The only thing she said today was that she wants to give Jack back and get a sister instead. I'm not sure if it's just that her brother annoys her now that he's mobile and touchs her things (but that's been for a few months now) or something related to the bed. Any thoughts?

Maybe she just misses Paige.....heheChat Icon

Just kidding..

I have no idea what could be causing that. Maybe just a phase.

We just started transitioning...he only takes naps in his big boy bed on the weekends or my days off but so far I haven't noticed any changes other than the typical crazy 2s.

Speaking as a girl though I do think that we can be more sensitive to things...maybe she needs to talk it out or have some time.

Re: When you first moved your DC to a big kid bed

My DS loved his big boy bed from the minute he saw it. However, he definitely was scared of falling asleep on his own and wanted me to stay in the bed with him. It took about a week, and then DS was fine falling asleep on his own. For the first week, I just kind of weaned him off me being there. The first 2 nights, I stayed until he fell asleep. The next few, I stayed maybe 10 minutes. And the last couple of days I only needed to stay 5 minutes or so and DS didn't seem to mind after that.
