When you get home do you take off your shoes?

I am just curious, we live in lower level apt and have had 2 different tenants above us. In another apt I lived in, it was under my Aunts house. They ALL never take their freakin shoes off!!!! They ALL wear high heels and stomp around. They all have hardwood floors! It is 11 (granted a Sat night) and the woman above me has been home for a few hours.

We even bought my Aunt Uggs for Christmas so she would wear those instead, it worked for maybe 2 weeks and she was back to the heels.

Am I the only one who comes in and changes ASAP into my comfy clothes. My shoes come off as soon as I get inside.

Am I the weird one?

My shoes allllllllllllways come off and my non comfy clothes, shortly thereafter!

The shoes are off and I am in my sweats within minutes of walking in the door! Lucky Dh!

We keep a shoerack in the hallway too.

I grew up in a house where that's the norm, and for DH its cultural.

I like to be barefoot when I am at home or if it is really cold then I will wear slippers. If you are in an apartment building does it have any regulations about a % of the floors being carpeted? Is anything written into your lease? If so, I would absolutely bring this issue up with the management. It is a quality of life issue.

I remove my shoes.

The minotaur above me does not. She needs some slippers for those hooves. 7 am, 1 am, clomp clomp clomp. What are you on, stilts?

I work in construction, so yes, my shoes come off ASAP when walking in the door.

I do the same as you .. It is rare that I'm home and lounging around in regular clothes. I'm always in my pajamas and Ugg slippers if I'm just around the house- and NEVER in my shoes! I just like to be comfy!

Yes, my Dad owns this house, lol. It is in the lease, they have to have area rugs in the living room and that is it I think.

When I get home I take my shoes off right away, then immediately go change into my PJ's

Shoes are off before I get in my apartment. I grew up this way.

I noticed that my floors stay cleaner that way too.

Shoes come off immediately! I would go through life barefoot if I could (and it wasn't disgusting)

they are usually off as soon as im done unloading the car, or bringing stuff in. I hate wearing shoes all day ifi dont have to.

I get changed out of street clothes so fast it's probably comical. I don't pause for anything. Walk in the door, shoes off, clothes off, comfy clothes and slippers ON. same w/ DH. I can't imagine walking around the house in shoes!

shoes off (we have carpet), I would never wear heels or shoes longer then needed, I wanna be comfy!

Ughhh I hear you!! I live one the 1st floor and above us (our landlords) wear heels, and have a 3 yr old and 2 yr old. They run and stomp and jump all day, the other night at 11pm it was so bad I had to text them and bang my broom to the ceiling. Its common sense, have some consideration knowing your tentants pay a good amount of rent and have a newborn!!!

We have hardwoods throughout and the floors are always cool so that is one reason I keep my shoes on.

I also have flat feet and have to wear shoes or else I end up in pain. I am always in either sneakers or crocs.

I used to be able to go barefoot (and preferred it) but lately I can't w/o having major foot/hip pain. Guess I'm getting old

I only take off my shoes if they are wet or muddy, and then I go put on another pair. I have flat feet, and plantar fascitis, so I'm not supposed to walk around barefoot or in socks.

yes right away! I wear either flip flops (in the summer) or just socks (when it's cold) around the house.
