When you make cake pops how much frosting are you using?
I usually make 1 box of cake mix and add half a can of frosting. I was watching RR yesterday and they were making them. They made 1 box of cake mix and used 1 can of frosting. It looked a lot better than mine do and then they dipped it in chocolate with a stick and it didn't slide off.
Should I be using the whole can?

Only use about 3/4 pf the container, don't buy the " whipped" kind.

Re: When you make cake pops how much frosting are you using?
I don't use the whole can. I usually use about 3/4 of it though. Honestly, I find it's all in the technique. I like to make my pops a little smaller because a. I like a bigger chocolate to cake ratio and b. the bigger pops are heavier and more likely to fall off the stick. Dipping the stick in the chocolate and then sticking it in the cake ball realy helps secure them on there. I also find that tapping the pop on the side of the bowl (to get them smooth and get rid of excess chocolate) makes them slide or break. I hold the stick in my right hand and then tap my right wrist with my left hand. It sounds so stupid but it works like magic! HTH!

Thanks for the tips. I think I did buy whipped in the past.
I did make cake balls a few weeks ago but I didn't put them on sticks and I was able to get the while chocolate perfect for dipping. Now I want to get them to stay on the stick.
