When you say your DC has a 6 oz bottle before bed..

Is that just what they want or are you giving them more before they go to bed and less during the day?

With DS all his bottles are the same during the day.
I have the child you CAN overfeed, he doesnt have an off switch, so he would take more but I stop him at about 6.5 oz. and he drinks every last drop!

Can I ask how old your DC is? I always wonder if my DS is drinking enough at 10 weeks.

My dd is 10 weeks and I give her 5 oz bottles during the day and a 6 oz bottle at night to try and hold her off longer.

shes 4 months...she isnt the biggest eater in the world...if your DS is gaining weight good i wouldnt worry too much about how much hes eating...but if hes not gaining weight well he may need to eat more.

ETA: at 10wks she was eating no more then 4oz at a feeding and that was only a couple times a day...if that...her tummy cant handle a lot at one time

Re: When you say your DC has a 6 oz bottle before bed..

At 10 weeks, my DD was taking no where near a 6 oz bottle.

I think around that time she would take a 3 oz bottle every 4 hours. When she started looking for food earlier, we knew it was time to up the amount we were giving her by an oz.

She got to six ounces MUCH later than that I would say around 10 months.

Even now, she will drink milk with her meals and do a 6 oz bottle before bed (she is 18 months).

Every child is different - she wasn't a huge eater, but she was growing well - they will let you know what they need Chat Icon

DS bottle before bed is usually 7 ounces hopefully which will make him sleep longer.
