When you stopped breast feeding and or pumping...

My twins were born in December. It was a traumatic experience so breast feeding did not work for me. I was determined to provide for them so I ended up pumping for 6 months. Unfortunately I only produced a few ounces a day but it made me feel better to at least do something. I finally had to stop in June bc I got an unrelated skin infection that I had to take meds for that I could not take while giving them my milk.
I gradually weaned myself and all was fine or so I thought. Fast forward to 3 months later and I have pretty bad pain in my breasts. I have always had that ache every now and then for the past 3 months - you know that ache where you need to pump? It came and went. But for the past week or so, the pain is bad. I am going to the ob on Thurs and I will ask but I am sure they wont be much help. There are no lumps that I can feel.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? I am not sure that my pain is definitely related to the pumping but for some reason I think it might be.
