I love King Umbertos!! I tried Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza the other night and also really enjoyed it.

Little Vincent's in Ronkonkoma (and Huntington, I think).
Also love Salvatore's in Port Washington.

There is a handful of "good" pizza places... (I like Mama's in copiague for regular pizza)...
But after DH (who's from Brooklyn) finally took me in for Brooklyn Pizza... I don't think LI pizza measures up.

it's the water. I live in Queens and it still isn't as good as Brooklyn pizza, which makes no logical sense since it is all NYC water

I don't think LI pizza compares at all to Brooklyn pizza, but I love Aegean in Holbrook and Amore in Bay Shore...

I agree with King Umberto's!
Some of the yummiest food around. We've had everything from bridal and baby showers to Christenings there.

I agree with King Umberto's!
Some of the yummiest food around. We've had everything from bridal and baby showers to Christenings there.
I had my bridal shower there and my daughters christening there. My parents are friends with the owner Rosario, who is such a nice guy! You won't be disappointed here.

Masas in Woodbury and Anthonys in Garden City. I personally love thin crispy fresh pizza. These two places have coal fired pizza. its so good! To me any place that ahs heat lamps and canned mushrooms isn't real pizza. lol. I think Coal fired is my favorite style.
I also personally like Bertuccis - brick oven style.
eta: I have not had brooklyn pizza. But I personally don't like typical LI pizza. So I don't know if brooklyn pizza is like coal fired or not.

The best pizza I have ever had in my life is from Rosa's in Maspeth (on 69th street, off Grand Ave). I grew up on that block and knew the owner when it first opened. It has the yummiest cheese and sauce..I wish they had a branch on LI but I drive over to Maspeth when I visit my parents just for the pizza!

I always went to the Rosa's on Fresh Pond Rd in Ridgewood as a kid because it was a couple of blocks from where Iived. I miss their pizza. The sicilian slice was sooo good!
