where does/did your newborn sleep??

she wont sleep in her crib unless we sit in her room...like she knows we leave! so shes been sleeping in our bed which i SWORE i would NEVER do how can i get her used to the crib?

we had his crib in our room so he slept in there

How old is she?

DS slept in the bassinet in my room until close to three months - and then we moved him to his crib with no problem at all.

DD is 3 months and sleeps in her crib at night no problem but she is not a good napper... cat naps usually in her bouncy or swing and will take a long nap if I hold her...

For the first 2-4 weeks DS would only really sleep for more than an hour on my chest. After that, he would sleep anywhere.

You can try swaddling or putting her on her tummy (if you're comfortable).

DD spent the first 2 weeks of her life sleeping in her newborn-to-toddler rocker (hey you gotta do what you gotta do ) after that we started putting her in her own crib in her own room...she didn't like it at first but eventually got used to it.

she slept in her bouncy seat in the living room and DH and I took turns. at 6 weeks we moved her to her own room.

my DD is almotst 6 months she still fits in her bassinet and she usually ends up in my bed bc she screams.. I HATE her in my bed but thats how i get sleep. I try and put her in her crib for naps and she usually stays in her bassinet for a few hrs at night . I am still bfing her so it is easier for me...

I swore i would never allow thebaby in my bed either but Idecided I have to do what is best for me and the baby

My dd liked to be inclined and slept in her bouncy seat IN her crib. Then we tossed the bouncy seat and got her in the crib, but she got a cold and it was hard for her to breath, so she slept in the car seat. She's had a stuffy nose for about 3 weeks now and is still in her car seat in our room. Right now, she is napping in her crib.
After DH gets up in the morning, I take her into bed with me and nurse her and then we sleep anywhere from an hour to two.

You put a newborn in the bed with you??? I would be afraid!

She sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed. She is only 4 weeks old so I am not ready for her to sleep in another room.

I would not let your baby sleep in your bed....that is very dangerous espeically considering she is only a few days old!

My first 2 slept in the bassinet untill they could roll over from back to tummy (DS was 3 months old, DD was 4 1/2 months old) then we put them in the crib and they did fine with the transition. My second DD is 4 months old and she sleeps in the bassinet untill she wakes up at 5 am to eat and I nurse her (in bed) and we both fall asleep untill 9 am. So she sleeps in bed with DH and I for a few hours everyday. When she starts rolling back to tummy (which I know will be any day now) she will end up in her crib.

I forgot to add she has slept in bed with us since she was born. I sleep very lightly so I feel comfortable doing it.

Umm.. her first night she spent on the couch
It was only place she would sleep!

I had the bassinet set up in our room so she spent a few days there.

I moved the bassinet into her room but she wasn't doing well so, she slept with us!
She was having a really tough time until we found the right formula and we felt bad. We bought the Snuggle Co-sleeper and she spent about 3 weeks in bed with us. I finally transitioned her into her room and she's been fine ever since.

P.S We had her in a moses basket inside the bassinet because our bassinet is so big.

Have her get used to the crib by taking one of her naps in there. Each day, increase the amount of naps she takes in there and eventually you can move her into the crib at night.

It's normal for babies to cry while going down for a nap, so let her cry a few minutes, go in to soothe her but don't take her out of the crib, then leave the room again. This may go on for a while, but eventually she'll fall asleep!

he sleeps in his bassinet in our room. I don't plan on moving him to the crib until he sleeps through the night.

Directly in her her crib from day 1. I would never feel comfortable with her in our bed.

We used a bassinet for the first 3 months. Now she is in the crib.

We tried the pack and play the 1st night she was home and she wanted nothing to do with it. The 2nd night my husband tried the crib in her room and she slept fine, so that's where she's been since day 2.

dd is 24 days old and sleeps in her crib in her room since day 1
