Re: Where will baby sleep for the first few months?
We're borrowing my cousins Eddie Bauer bassinet which rolls. This will work for us since we have a small bedroom, I can roll the baby closer at night, but push the basinet out of the way during the day.
Friends of ours used the basinet portion of the pack and play and had no problems with that. Since our den is on another floor, I plan to use that babies daytime naps, etc.

Re: Where will baby sleep for the first few months?
I had the Arm's Reach Mini-Cosleeper. It was great. DS slept in it until he was almost 7 months (mistake on our part for letting him sleep in our room so long). Baby #2 will be using it also. We've definitely gotten our money's worth.

Ella slept in the bassinet part of the travel pnp for the first 3 months. She was in our room, right next to the bed.

Re: Where will baby sleep for the first few months?
We're going to have a bassinet in our room for the first few months. The nursery will be right next door to our bedroom but I still feel better having the baby with us.

Crib will be in our room for awhile, pack and play in the babies room for napping and hanging out.

Re: Where will baby sleep for the first few months?
If you are BFing, I definitely suggest having the baby in the room with you. It's so much easier to pull the baby into bed and latch on without having to fully wake up and get up and walk into the next room. Plus, I liked the stare at the baby when I went to sleep.
We had no transition problems

in a basinet in our room - I'm not sure when we move we'll have an extra room for the baby anyway - so we may be rooming with our baby for a long time!!!
