No matter how much I love a book, I don't reread. I don't think I ever have.

Re: Which books have you re-read because they are that good?

Harry Potter, The Hobbit, some of the Sookie books, Twilight (Chat Icon).

I can't wait to one day read Harry Potter to my kids. And then it makes me think of this, from Pinterest...

ETA: When I was a kid, I hated reading. It felt like a chore. I guess that was because I wasn't really choosing what I wanted to read but being told what to read and I wasn't into it. So when I really got into reading, I kept reading the same books, I guess because I didn't know what was out there or how to find books related to what I liked. Now with sites like this and goodreads and facebook, it's so easy! I feel a little guilty re-reading because I always want to find that next great read. I usually re-read a book before the next movie comes out though. I'll definitely be re-reading Hunger Games.

I read The Catcher in the Rye a couple times. But years apart, like in HS and College.

I would read The Help again, I loved that book.

As a (former) high school teacher, I have read many books 10x out of necessity. The one book I go back to personally is The Catcher in the Rye. Between teaching it and reading it for personal pleasure, I've read it countless times.

I'm a big re-reader. I read my favorites over and over again. It's like going back and visiting friends.

Some that I can think of off the top of my head that I've read multiple times...

Outlander series
Bronze Horseman series
All of John Irving's books
The Time Traveler's Wife
The Stand (I re-read that every year)
Some of the Game of Thrones books
The Great Santini
Forever

There are definitely more....

I have to second:
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
I Capture the Castle
Pride and Prejudice (and not just because I teach it every year. Chat Icon )
Harry Potter

We have a lot in common. Chat Icon I'd also have to add all Madeleine L'Engle books to my list, too.

I am pretty sure that little women is the only book i ever read more than once. i was never much of a reader when i was younger. I was a little dyslexic and i read really slow so it was never something i enjoyed. now that i am older and kinda grew out of it i read constantly and fell like there is so much out there for me to read i dont want to waste time reading things i have already read!

Re: Which books have you re-read because they are that good?

Not a big fan of re-reading. Not because I don't think there are any books worthy of it. But because there are just so many books out there that I want to read, I don't want to waste time re-reading.

Although, I did read To Kill A Mockingbird in Junior High and I would really like to read it again as an adult.

Re: Which books have you re-read because they are that good?

I re-read stuff a LOT when I was young. Stuff I remember reading over and over--

- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- the Little House on the Prairie series
- Little Women

Now as an adult, I never really re-read. I was thinking about WHY that is, and I realized it's due to time constraints. I barely have time to read, period-- to me I feel like I need to spend my reading time on new stuff I'm interested in, rather than re-reading.

However, my DH is a huge reader of fantasy and frequently re-reads some of his favorite series... and he doesn't have tons of time to read either, so I guess everyone has a different reading style.

Given the extra time, I think I would re-read the Game of Thrones books today. LOVE that series, and there are so many details, I'd probably pick up stuff the second time around I didn't notice at first.
