i like #1 based solely on appearance. #2 has a boxy quality to the back that i don't really like.

It's really much nicer in person too.
#1 = Subaru Legacy GT Wagon
#2 = Saab 9-3 SportCombi Aero (Saab's sneaky way of saying "deluxe wagon")

Based on looks, #2 (the SAAB)...but I really like what I hear about Subaru's so for safety, I'm going with #1. Does the SAAB have all-weel drive?

Well, since #1 is a subaru i have to add in that my brother has a subaru wagon and LOVES it...
also that I think wagons are a good way to go if you have kids but don't want to get an SUV.
gas is killing me...but i got my suv 3 years ago and never anticipated it getting this bad..

I like the look of #2 but I have a Subaru Forester now & I LOVE it. I've never skidded on ice or had problems in the snow and the safety features are great.

No it does not. It's front-wheel drive.
I think Saab was rated higher in safety ratings, but I could be wrong.....
