Which pump do I choose?
Why does everything have to be so difficult and require so much time and energy to research! I get a free pump through insurance but of course there are quite a few selections, all with their good and bad reviews, and I honestly have no idea which route to take. It seems as though I have narrowed it down to the following and I was hoping that anyone with any experience with either of them could send a review my way or suggest one that they use..TIA!
Ameda Purely Yours Ultra Medela Pump In Style Advanced Starter Set Spectra 9 Plus Advanced Spectra S2 Hospital Strength

The Spectra is supposed to be great, but most insurance companies don't/won't cover the hospital grade S2 so I would double check on that!

If you can get the spectra s2, id get that. Otherwise the medela. Definitely not the ameda.

Why do you say that about the Ameda?

I get a lot of my info on pumps from EPing groups I joined when pumping for DD and the ameda is generally not recommended bc there are far superior pumps out there, like the spectra and medela. If that was your only choice, I'd say go for it because it's free and it's not horrendous. But not when you can get a spectra or medela!
ETA: I didn't expect to EP with my first so when I had the choice of a medela or a lansinoh, I picked the lansinoh because I figured I wouldn't use it too much. I ended up buying a medela PISA and renting a medela symphony.

Def spectra s2. It's hospital grade and you'd be lucky if insurance covered it.

Re: Which pump do I choose?
I went with the medela because it's what I used last time & it worked well & it's very easy to find replacement parts at BRU or Target. But I'm sure the hospital grade one is probably excellent, as others have said.

The spectra can also be hacked to fit medela accessories. Not sure how but I know it's possible.
