who had "normal" spotting early on?
here we go again, I just started spotting, very very light this morning. Hoping this is not the beginnings of another miscarriage. Looking for something to help me feel not so pessimistic! I am 13dpo, I did have implantation spotting last week (6dpo). I am about 5 weeks along (I have a long cycle). Please send me some sticky dust, thanks!! I am afraid to even tell DH about it he was so happy yesterday when I broke the news!!
Did anyone else have "normal" spotting early on and go on to a healthy pregnancy? It really sucks that the oblivious joy of just being pregnant is stripped from you after a m/c!!

Re: who had "normal" spotting early on?
I had spotting and cramping early on with this pregnancy. I’d say from about 8 weeks to 10 weeks (approx.) I also had a mc before this pregnancy, so I freaked out of course…But, here I am at 25 weeks and everything is fine. Hope all is ok!!!!

If spotting was the first symptom of your miscarriage last time I would get to your OB ASAP to have your progesterone levels checked.

Yes, the doctor said to drink more water and it went away.

Yes it was....problem is I'm starting with a new practice I just called them and the earliest they'll take me is feb 27th...the receptionist said to try my old doctor if I need bloodwork done now UGH!

If its just for bloodwork I would do that. If for some reason you do have low progesterone, that's an easy fix with suppositories, plus they can check your betas to ease your mind.
Good luck

Re: who had "normal" spotting early on?
I had early spotting (about 4-5 weeks) with 2 pregnancies. The first was a m/c and the second was perfectly normal. it is nerve wracking when you are spotting, especially after a loss, but spotting does happen in a LOT of healthy pregnancies. Definitely get your progesterone levels checked. Recurrent early losses are often due to low progesterone. That said, this could end up turning out just fine. Good luck!!

New patient or not, I cannot believe that they won't see you ASAP. I hope you don't mind me saying so, but I would consider a new practice. I don't see what being a new patient has to do with anything if you possibly have an issue that needs to be addressed.

I agree with this.
I too was spotting a very little bit, I went in and all is good so far. Im 6 wks 3 days. They said its normal early on and not to panic. But with your history I would prob have someone see me for peace of mind. Good luck!!!!!!

I'm kind of starting to feel that way too....I've read good things about this doctor and this practice, but I don't like how the receptionist is basically playing GOD with me and won't even ASK the doctor for me b/c I'm a new patient, frustrating!! Especially considering I might actually like this doctor once I get to see her. I hate when you have to deal with front desk staff that thinks they're the gestapo!!

thank you!! I think I will suck it up and call my old doctor, it's not like we had a "falling out" I just preferred not to use that practice when and if I got pregnant again.

I did not spot with my first DD. With my second I spotted early off and on about 6.5 weeks and again off and on around 9 weeks. It was scary. I am now 20 weeks.

Re: who had "normal" spotting early on?
I spotted at both 6 weeks and adgain around 11 weeks. Both times it was nothing. Is the spotting brown? Brown usually means old blood and not too much to worry about. But even as others have said pink and red spotting can also mean nothing. As far as the doctor if you really want to go to the new docot I would call back and when the receptionist tries to tell you you can't come in I would remind her that she is not a medical professional it that it's illegal for her to be giving out medical advice (like no need to come in when you're spotting). Tell her you would like to leave a message for the doctor. I would also call your old doctor just so you have a backup plan if the new doctor doesn't call you back.
Good luck!

she had offered to take a message and give my cell # to the doctor UNTIL she realized I was a new patient and then told me the doctor would not be able to do anything for me or consult with me over the phone (but I told her I need bloodwork done moreso than a phone call!), I feel like the front desk staff in that office is impossible and I haven't even been there yet! lol

Re: who had "normal" spotting early on?
I did spot early on during this pregnancy and then again a few weeks later. I too suffered a previous MC so I know how terrifying it must be to see blood again. It could very well be nothing...
ETA: I am almost 31 weeks pregnant.

Re: who had "normal" spotting early on?
I just wanted to say good luck and I hope everything is ok I have heard that spotting can be normal but of course it is so scary when it happens to you My friend had spotting when she was around 6 weeks and she went to the ER and the baby was ok. She's now around 14 weeks. But to be on the safe side, if your new doc won't see you, call the old one to get checked ASAP. Good luck

Re: who had "normal" spotting early on?
I had some spotting atabout 6-9 weeks, on adn off and it was due to low progesterone. I have continued to spot- monthly(exactly every 28 days) and they have found no cause. I am now 17 weeks, and still no reason.. the baby seems completely healthy and happy- i m a nervous wreck.. everything is normal.. i would check a new doc out though.. if it is an emergency- they should see you asap.

Re: who had "normal" spotting early on?
I spotted with all three pregnancies -- and not just "normal" spotting, but AF-like bleeding.
DS#1 is almost 4yo now, DS#2 is 2yo, and #3 is due next month. Hard not to worry, but your body will do what it needs to -- keep your chin up...

I always have spotting during pregnancy. I had spotting till 26 weeks this time around and I'm 35 weeks, but I know how stressful it can be.

it it is light brown spotting....when I miscarried it started as light brown spotting and over a few days time turned to red spotting (and clotting). That was at 8 weeks along though....I am hoping this spotting, at 5 weeks, will turn out to be normal!!
