My very conservative doctor (for first 2 kids) told me 6 weeks. He explained very rudely that if I happened to jam on the brakes my insides could tear or rupture. I then switched doctors and was told 2 weeks by my new dr. I was also told 6 weeks. It is conservative for most typical c-sections. I had a very complex one and was told (not rudely) to err on the side of caution. I also drove a large bumpy pick-up truck & I think that played into it as well.

my doctor said I could drive as soon as I was released, but probably because my babies were in the NICU. I think I drove after a couple of days.

My dr. didn't tell me anything & I think I was driving a few days after I got home from the hospital. But I was driving all over w/ DH too (as a passenger).
