Why is DD crying when i change her diaper
I mean REALLY crying every time i lay her down to change her. I keep thinking is she hurting down there? does she have UTI?? it doesnt look infected.... IS this normal? shes 14 months
PS ... Sometimes she doesnt cry ... i would say about 50%-75% of the time
ESpecially When i put the diaper on after the bath
Thanks nancy

Re: Why is DD crying when i change her diaper
I have noticed Jack does this too. He doesn't like to be confined anymore - now that he can GO GO GO. The easiest thing for me to do is change him on the changing table (I was doing it on the floor bc it's so much easier) bc he can't go anywhere - and the torture (for both of us) is much quicker.
I also read somewhere (can't remember if it was here or a magazine) that they do not like when their environment is changing. Ex: Dinner, changing, bath. And, I noticed it's true for Jack. To get him to sit in the highchair is hard - but once he's there - it's all good.
Sorry to ramble!

Re: Why is DD crying when i change her diaper
My son, almost 12 months, cries when I change him too. I seriuosly think he's just so into everything now, he hates being confined to the changing table. He has better thing to do than to take the time to lay there and get changed!

I was thinking that she was younger cuz Kristina was doing that plenty when she was a few weeks old.... It's prob like Diana said.... She prob just doesn't want to be stuck on the changing table anymore....

Re: Why is DD crying when i change her diaper
I dunno...but my DS does this too. He is picky about certain things
But usually i talk to him and tell him "gotta change your poopie diaper" and he stops crying. Like he understands.
For a while i thought he would cry because he thought that he was being put down to sleep. Sometimes i still think so, especially when the majority of the time is right after he gets up from a nap

Re: Why is DD crying when i change her diaper
I have begun having 'conversations' with Kristina when I go to change her.... It seems to help and she usually smiles her way through the change now.... unless she is insanely hungry that is!

My girls just want to run around naked and play in their room. Maybe Ashley just wants to do that
Try changing the spot where you change her.

Re: Why is DD crying when i change her diaper
Hey Chicky!! I just bought Jake a "thing" (I guess you could describe it as an activity center) to put over the changing table....its amazing!!!
Even if he is hysterical it seems to calm him
