Why would I go in at 7DPO for a progesterone check?
Never did this before, why this time around? Last cycle was a chemical.

Precisely because you had a chemical...my guess is that they want to see if you have a Luteal Phase Defect and need progesterone supplementation.

Ah ha! Thanks! I was figuring it was something along these lines! My progesterone was low at my first beta (which was only 87)

Re: Why would I go in at 7DPO for a progesterone check?
depending on how many DPO you were 87 isnt that low of a beta as for progesterone, are you on any supplementation now?? IMO if it were me, i wouldnt want to wait for a progesterone check at 7DPO to find out, i would just start progesterone supps at like 2DPO. many RE's (including mine) do that since supplementing progesterone can't hurt in any way, it can only help. so why wait and then find out theres a problem when you can avoid the problem altogether?

THIS exactly. I use P4 support even when I am trying naturally as my 7DPO tests tend to come in at 9 or just under 9 which is just a little on the low side for a natural cycle.
It is not always easy to get progesterone but now I have a nice stockpile for my natural cycles. Ask them for a prescription no matter what if your P4 is anywhere near boderline acceptable just for your own peace of mind. My first RE did not want to prescribe me any and the very next cycle I had a chemical. After that...I learned to do what I had to do as tests did in fact reveal a lower P4.

I just want to say 87 is not low for a beta. It's actually a very good number. I had a beta of 87 with twins (unfortunately one twin did not survive), but most RE's want to see beta numbers between 50-100.
To the OP... since you did have a chemical, this is why they are watching your progesterone. I know my RE always had me come in for a progesterone check at 7dpo, even though I was already on progesterone injections. It was just part of the protocol.
Good luck!

If your progesterone was low I would ask if you can just do progesterone supplements as part of your protocol. I've always used it for every cycle

I am seeing Dr. B...he wants me to go in to make sure I did ovulate naturally at 7dpo...does that make sense?
