I would like to nominate my best friend Christine. She is a single mom, her son's father left when she was 4 months pregnant and has never been involved in her son's life.

She was the assistant manager of an animal shelter and because of politics and a personal vendetta from the shelter's benefactor, she was let go. She has another job, making a fraction of what she was making. Every month she scrapes to make ends meet and pay rent on a modest home for her and her beautiful, smart and well-adjusted 4 year old boy.

On top of all of that, she made a decision last year to have lap band surgery in an effort to lose weight and give herself a better life, and be able to be an even better, healthier mom for her son. She's lost over 100 pounds!

She works hard, doesn't ask for much at all, and does everything she can for her son to make sure he has a wonderfully happy life. She doesn't have any extra money for pictures, and I'd love to reward her selflessness and hard work with something she doesn't have the extra money for ever.

I'd like to nominate my MIL.. while we started off rocky i never really gave her a chance.

my mother died when i was 19 so she will never have the chance to meet my DC so the only grandmother my DC will ever know is my MIL.

i also don't think she ever imagined having a granddaughter (all boys run in the family) and DH & I were able to give her one

I would like to nominate Lori (lorimarie) of AvaJack Photography. She is a beautiful woman who with great patience and love captures life - through her beautiful photographs - for us. Little baby toes being kissed by a new mom, tentative first steps, the delicious look of surprise on a baby who tastes their first birthday cake. All our memories in black & white and vivid color for us, our children, and someday our grandchildren to look back on and enjoy. Photos that make us laugh, and smile and even bring tears to our eyes. She deserves to be on the other side of the camera with her Ava and Jack, so someone can capture for her, all the emotions – love, wonder, and laughter - that she captures for us.

I would nominate my Aunt Nancy! The last 15 years have been rough for her.......her DD passed away at 20 months old (14 years ago) and she tried so hard to concieve her. She now has 2 boys who are 11 & 13...her oldest has been diagnosed with Asbergers Syndrome and she has fought TIRELESSLY to get him all the help he deserves at school! A family portrait of them would be something she would LOVE!!

I would like to nominate my Mom. I can honestly say that besides DH, she is my best freind. I look forward to speaking to her every day and hanging out with her .In this day and age I truly consider that a blessing. She is alwas there for my family and I as well in every capacity and is truly a role model.

I want to nominate my best friend Marissa's mother Kathy. My dear friend passed away in the summer of '06 from cystic fibrosis. Her sister, had a double lung transplant in November '07. I know it would be a wonderful thing for them to get a photo with her. Kathy is a wonderful women who has a lot of faith, even after being handed so much to deal with. She spends a lot of her time raising money for a cure for this horrible disease.

I would like to nominate my friend Kerry. She is a kind and compassionate person who donated a year of her time and service as a CapCorp volunteer immediately following her college graduation. She spent her time working with the poor, sick, elderly, and disabled. While there, she met her future husband.

More importantly- earlier this evening Jay and Kerry welcomed their first born child into the world- just in time for Mother's Day.

I would love to see the first few weeks of Cecelia Grace's life captured in pictures by Forever Fireflies.

I would like to nominate my sister Nicole. She is 17 and has two children 18 months apart. They are 1 & 2 right now and a handful! Despite the fact that she is still a child herself, she is a great mom. She loves her children and has stayed focused on her future in order to be able to provde for them. She is still in high school, but willl be graduating next year and plans on attending nursing school.

I am a mother of one 4 month old at 32 and I know how much time and energy is involved in caring for a child. She traded her childhood for theirs, so I do not think anyone is more deserving than her.

I would like to nominate a very good friend of mine. She is blessed with twins, a boy and girl; however with her work schedule she wished she spent more time with them. She is very thoughtful and generous to all around her and I know she would appreciate this life long gift!

She has not had a job for awhile now and lives with her parents. I know that she would be very appreciative of a photoshoot to capture the memories of when her DD is first born, and I know that there is no way that she could afford such a thing right now. I have been friends with her since we were in the first grade. It would be wonderful if she could be blessed with this opportunity.

She's an amazing woman - a successful professional working in health care; a devoted mother of an active 4 year old; a wife; a fantastic, caring friend. She is currently in the hospital recovering from a traumatic surgery and is facing a long emotional recovery.

I would like to nominate one of my BFF, Joyce...She has a 16 month old little girl who was born prematurely at 35 weeks. About a month prior to her DD being born, her husband lost his job. Everything hit them at once. She never was able to have newborn pictures taken of her DD & even now with the economy the way it is, her husband is just making ends meet with his local job. Her DD's first birthday just passed & she was unable to have pictures taken just bc money is tight. She is a wonderful person who I feel deserves this! I have known her over 24 years & she would go out of her way for ANYONE! This would be a wonderful way to repay her as a friend & a mother

I would like to nominate my aunt, Alison. I stopped reading all the other entries because even with an obvious bias towards my aunt, I don’t know how I would pick one person over another. However, aside from my mother, I cannot think of another person in my own life who is more deserving.

On May 29th, 2004, Alison lost her husband to a year-long, painful battle with brain cancer. She was left to be a single mother of her then, five-year-old twin daughters. Not knowing how to start the grieving process with two young daughters, she brought them to my wedding the next day so they could still be my flower girls. This, I’m positive, was the last time any of them had a professional picture taken (and they didn’t even get one all together) aside from yearly school photos. My aunt works very hard to continue to give her daughters the life that they want. During the past 6 years, she has battled and survived breast cancer. She continues to work 5 days a week, although she has to travel from out east to Manhattan three days of those days. She makes sure her daughters want for nothing. This summer, she will spend a lot of time and money (which like all of us, she is short on) to provide one of her daughters with intensive therapy. This is because, aside from her other hardships, this daughter became selectively mute shortly following the death of her father, and therapy and medication so far has yet to make a significant difference for her.

There are so many deserving mothers out there, but in my life, my Aunt Alison is the one.

Maura is an amazing mother to 4 year old twins, Madison and Jack. In Arpil, 2008, doctors found a mass in Madison's kidney. She was diagnosed with Wilm's tumor, a form of childhood cancer. She had surgery to remove her entire kidney and the tumor which was the size of a grapefruit. However, the cancer had already spread to her lungs. Madison immediately began six months of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It was a huge struggle for the family. Maura took a leave of absence from her job as a speech and language therapist for children with severe physical and mental disabilities.
Here's where it gets worse: Wilm's tumor is not considered genetic or hereditary so there was no worry about Jack. Doctors told Maura and her husband, Joe that when things settle down, to have him tested just in case. Things had finally started to calm down in their hectic lives so they scheduled an ultrasound for Jack. In August, 2008, the nightmare got worse because Jack was diagnosed with Wilm's tumor. He too, had to undergo major surgery to remove his kidney and he began his 18 weeks of chemotherapy treatments.

Jack is in remission and is doing great! However, Madison relapsed a first time, went through more chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant (which involved 6 weeks of isolation in the hospital followed by strict precautions at home) and just relapsed again for the second time. She just began a TWO YEAR treatment plan of chemotherapy. Her prognosis is not good.

Maura is home taking care of two medically fragile children. She is a loving, selfless woman who truly puts the needs of her children before her own. She deserves any joy that could possibly come her way. This photo shoot would be an amazing way to capture her family all together and happy.

I wanna use my Nomination to nominate your friend as well. That sounds like a horrible situation to be in and I bet pictures would last them forever and something they would cherish, and I have been thinking about my nomination, because while there are a million deserving people to recognize, I really wanted to nominate someone who couldnt afford to get pictures done normally because we all know these sessions are expensive and I'm sure your friend has too many medical bills to name.

Would like to nominate oneday (Pam, here on LIF) - she's a good friend and I think she's a wonderful mother to her son Logan. I think her baby is so cute should have lots of photos taken of him!!!

She is a great mother, like we all are, she is so kind and loving.

My nominee is my mother. My mother has made sure that my life is as stable and fulfilled as it can be. My parents divorced when I was 8 and my father left us with nothing. Immediately after the divorce she went through a big depression in which she gained a lot of weight. She had never really had a great outlook on herself since then. Despite her poor self esteem she has turned our lives around by attending nursing school and rebuilding a life for us. She bought us a house to live in and worked to make sure that I wasn't declined anything. She has worked a ton of overtime to make sure I had the wedding of my dreams. She has been an amazing mom! Unfortunately since the weight gain and some bad relationships she never can see herself a beautiful and amazing person. I think it would be great to have a family photosession with her, so that she could be captured in a way that could make her feel amazing. I know she would love to have some pictures with her grandson.

I would like to nominate my SIL. She had two babies back to back and had to be on bedrest for both pregnancies. My BIL also had a rough time finding a fulltime job after the babies were born. They are in alot of debt from it still. My nephews are now 5 and 6 and she has never had any professionla pictures done of the family or the boys as they cant afford it so I know she would love this.

i would like to nominate my mom Barbara. She has given her all to make sure that her kids were happy. She was there for me through infertility and the loss of my daughter. She is now there for my amazing daughter. She does everything for her. She just recently had a heart attack and we feared for her survival but now she is doing great and we are lucky to have to her almost back to herself...my mom is one of the greatest woman out there and she is turning 60 in a few weeks and this would be an awesome gift to say thank you far all that she does for my brothers and I thanks
