I bought a really nice coat from Motherhood for $79.

Is it this one? I was looking at it today and debating about whether or not to order it:

Motherhood Coat

Ooh, this one is nice, is it warm?? I feel like it might not be for only $79?? But maybe...

I know, I was thinking the same thing...it sounds too cheap, but it looks warm.

I think being due in February, you should get one.

I bought one off ebay last year so I got it for about 50% of the retail cost and I wound up wearing it for the rest of the winter, even though DD was born in January. Believe me, I was trying to wear my regular coats 3 days pp but I couldn't fit them over my pp boobs. Chat Icon

That's a very good point! I'm still going to have the rest of the winter to deal with once Chat Icon is here. My boobs are ginormous to begin with, I can't even image what my pp boobs will look like! Chat Icon

Re: Winter and Pregnant: Are you getting a maternity coat?

i'm due in early january, but i'm moving to illinois so i DEF have to invest in one!! i thought i could get away with wearing my jackets unzipped but i forgot that A) i wear everything fitted so of course nothing fits me, and B) it gets COLD out! today was chilly! Chat Icon

i'll more than likely just get a coat a size larger than me, i don't wanna waste a bunch of money on a huge jacket that i'm only gonna wear once! (assuming we decide on #2 and also assuming i'm not preggers in the winter again! Chat Icon)

Re: Winter and Pregnant: Are you getting a maternity coat?

I am due in Feb so I definitely need to get a winter coat. Marisa's post about her swing coat got me thinking...

Do you think this coat from VS would work?

Why can't they make a cute coat like this in maternity??!! Chat Icon

Nope. I am due the first week of January. So far, I am wearing a sweater Poncho and an A-Line Jacket from Last year.

it could work. It looks like it is A-Line. Are you gaining from your boobs much? If so, then I would get a larger size.

Re: Winter and Pregnant: Are you getting a maternity coat?

Old Navy has some cute coats on their website that look like they may work in non-maternity sizes. I plan to go there this weekend and pick one up in a bigger size than I normally wear. I figure I can always get it taken-in later after Chat Icon is here so it's not a waste of my money. The maternity coats I have looked at are oooooooooooooogly and WAY overpriced. I am due at the end of December so I am only going to need it a couple of months anyways.

Re: Winter and Pregnant: Are you getting a maternity coat?

I'm already freezing, so I'm definitely getting a coat. I don't think I will ever feel hot in the winter, even if I'm pregnant. I was just going to buy a bigger coat, but I'm not sure. I feel it is going to fit in the stomach areas, but be too big every where else. I need to look around.

I guess it's hard to tell b/c I haven't had to wear it in cold weather yet BUT it feels like it will be super warm.

Re: Winter and Pregnant: Are you getting a maternity coat?

My friend gave me a Liz Lange herringbone wool coat-- I don't think it will keep me that warm, and she is a lot smaller than me-- so, we'll see how long it will fit me for.

She also gave me a maternity vest-- again, she is smaller than me-- so, we shall see how long it fits.

I also bought a Fall trench which I have been wearing lately-- even though I don't really have a belly to fill it out-- I needed a light jacket anyway.

I also have a big puffy coat that should get me through-- and bundled with a hat and scarf, I;ll be warm enough if I can't zip it up.

Re: Winter and Pregnant: Are you getting a maternity coat?

I got a swing coat at H&M for like 50 bucks a few sizes bigger that if for some reason I do blow up a lot I still have room. I'm due mid/end of December so even after the baby is born and I haven't lost everything I figured I could probably use it....and it was CHEAPChat Icon
