Winthrop's visitor policy
Are they strict with the two at a time rule that is posted on their website? I have visited others in different hospitals with a similar policy but it wasn't enforced.

Not really! I had about 5 or 6 people in my room last time i gave birth. I personally do wish they enforced it though. I hate being all crowded and some people who have been there for a long time just wont leave to give more space.

i was in a private room - so no. i had like 10 people at once.
if you are in a double (and there is a roomate) there isnt much room for more than 2-3

if you are in a double (and there is a roomate) there isnt much room for more than 2-3
Everyone gets a private room now unless there are a lot of births and they can't accommodate everyone.

Just had my cs in June and they weren't at all strict. I had so many people (DH's side) that I asked the nurse to pretend to have to do something so they would leave. Worked like a charm

best friend's sister was just doubled. it does happen they only have 8-10 rooms I believe.

they doubled me back in 2009...... with a girl who's baby was in the room while mine was in the nicu :( at one point I had 5 visitors, and she had like 6...... they don't seem to check.

No everyone gets private rooms.. There are 16 rooms in labor and delivery and about another 30 beds on the maternity floor

Yes, exactly. The only time they double you up is if there are a lot of births and they can't give you a private room. On our tour the nurse told us they will keep you in L&D for a bit as your private room until something private opens up on the maternity floor.
