Re: Wintrhop ladies
Posted by Cheryl
OK i just want to make sure I have this since there are so many conflicting responses! SO I'm gathering that... When I have my baby, they are going to bring baby to my room and not take him away at all UNLESS I specifically request them to. And when I do, I should not have a problem. They will happily take my request. ((fingers crossed))
see my friend just had her baby last week...actually another girl I know had a baby same time and this was their stories:
1) my good friend had c-section...they would NOT take her baby to the nursery under any circumstances...told her it was brand new policy (started day before) and my friend had the baby with her every night she was there...even 1st night when she couldn't get up or move...she had the baby sleep on her chest!
2) friend of a friend so this story I heard not directly from the girl....she also just had a baby last week and she went to the nursery herself and sort of flipped out on them...so they eventually caved and took her baby but would only do it 2 nights...she was c-section also and they made her keep the baby the other 2 nights.
So I'm so not understanding the conflicting stories - why they make some keep their babies but they took other babies.....please realize this new policy apparently only went into place 1 week ago today. So if you are talking about something before then....everything has changed since then.

Re: Wintrhop ladies
Since I was flipping out My dad emailed them and got a response back today saying it's something new called couplet sleeping (or something like that)... the nurse clearly says you CAN send your baby to the nursery if you want without any problem... it's just that the baby is in your room until you ask for it to be taken to nursery and then no problem.... you can rest.... she said you and baby get same nurse to foster teaching and communication and treatment.... that that's the only really big change... soooo i will ask again and keep asking, but that's what someone told us at 5 pm today

Re: Wintrhop ladies
Thanks for the clarification! It puts my mind at ease. I just can't imagine them not letting you rest after you give birth. It just sounds crazy to me and I don't know why any ob would want their patients to go there if that was really the case!
