Wisdom teeth pulled??? Update 09/20

I am having bad tooth and gum pain on my left side by my wisdom teeth. I had the right side pulled about three years ago because they impacted and facing the wrong way. The recovery did not go well, I kept getting that dry socket. The doctor was supposed to pull all four wisdom teeth but only pulled two because they were so bad. In fact he said it was the top five worst cases he's ever seen in his career . Pulling all four at one time would have put me in the hospital.

I just got my BFP this past weekend and I don't know how this works... will I be able to have them pulled now that I am PG? Or will I have to live with the pain for the next 9?

Anyone have any info to share on this topic?

So it ends up that it's not my wisdom teeth that's the problem. I called the dr. who pulled the wisdom teeth and the two I had taken out were on the side that I'm having the pain on. Good thing I called that dr. first. It ends up, I have Pregnancy Gingivitis. I'm actually happy that I don't have to have my teeth pulled. I am going to the dentist today to take care of this Pregnancy Givgivitis. I might need to go for more cleanings then usual during the pregnancy. What's wierd is that they say it usually comes on during the 2-8 month of pregnancy and I just started my 5th week today. I only got my BFP this past Saturday the 15th. They also said it happens to 50%-80% of pregnant women!

Did you call your dentist and let him know you are PG?

are the teeth out of the gum or impacted under the gum? If outside the gum that would be easier, b/c you wont have to be put under, whichi dont think they would do this early in your preg.

I had a wisdom tooth pulled when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. It had a large cavity in it and the dentist said that he felt it was better to pull it )and knowing I was PG) than to leave it in and have it cause an infection, which could be harder to treat while PG.

So I waited until I was in my 2nd trimester, got the ok from my doc (who said novocaine was fine, but with NO epineprine). And I had it pulled at the dentist office. I am glad I did, I had no problems at all.

Thanks for the info everyone. I do plan on calling the dentist. I was just going to wait a few days to see if the pain goes away. Because that has happened before, were I have pain and then after a few days it's gone. Fingers crossed that's what will happen this time. Obviously, I would prefer to not have them pulled while pg.
