wisdom tooth
I have to get one pulled and I just called to make an appointment and they asked me if I want to be put out. When i told them I did she said that insurance won't cover that and I will have to pay for that myself. Has anyone ever heard of this? Also for those of you who have gotten yours pulled was it that bad? and were you put out? I am such a baby when it comes to the dentist that when I hung up the phone making the appointment I got sick to my stomach knowing I have to get this done
TIA

Re: wisdom tooth
Im such a scaredy cat when it comes to dentists and I opted to be put out. Although I exprienced minor discomfort afterwards, Im glad I was asleep. I dont think I would be able to bear the "yanking out". Good luck, you'll feel so much better once its out!!

Re: wisdom tooth
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled and I was awake for it....It was not a bad experience at all!!! After they numb your mouth, you only feel a little bit of pressure while they are pulling out the teeth...There was absolutely no pain....And it is honestly such a quick procedure...I think the doctor said it takes about 30 seconds to take out a top wisdom tooth and about 2-3 minutes to take out a bottom one....I had no swelling or pain afterwards at all!!! I had a really good experience! Good luck!

Re: wisdom tooth
I had to have 1 removed and I am so scared of the dentist, I am overdue for a cleaning that is how scared I am of the dentist, I was up for it, and it was not too bad, I had a few shots and some sweet air and closed my eyes and it was not bad at all. The dentist told me it takes longer to get the tooth numb then for them to take it out. HTH

Re: wisdom tooth
Thanks Everyone!! I am sure I will be ok-I just can't stand the dentist. I get myself all worked up before.
