We'll see how it goes.
She was excited about the bed. That's the easy part.
She bought a lawn mower (her choice) and a Dora doll with her pacifiers. She hasn't asked for them but she's out of bed already so I have a feeling it's going to be a long night. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm am in complete SHOCK! It went perfect. I expected a looooong night.
She went to bed and came out once saying she was hungry. She had a yogurt drink and went back up. She was up once at 6am asking for covers and went back to sleep until her usual 8:30.
It was really cute though I heard her on the monitor last night when she was going to sleep saying "Oh no I have no more boppies I bought a lawn mower with them". It was so cute.
The only bad thing is she found one in her bathroom this morning that we must have missed. She unwillingly gave it to me to bring to the toy store.

Maris-I read about buying something with them in a magazine I think. I didn't think it would work but DH was adamant about getting rid of them (I personally would let her have them longer if she needed them). Anyway I figured we'd give it a try and I was prepared to fight with DH when she was "traumatized".Ooops DH was right about this one I guess.
Anyway we had her gather them all up in ziplock bag to take to the toy store and buy something with them. We were prepared to let her buy whatever she wanted, whatever the cost. Well about an hour later she decided on a lawn mower. She said it was what she really wanted and I guess it was. We got her a Dora doll as well thinking she would need something to go to bed with but it's still in the bag.
Anyway when we got to the register she handed the cashier her bag of pacifiers and walked out with DH and her new lawnmower. I paid and got them back to hide at home. So she thinks they are gone, gone, gone.
I really didn't think she would understand but I guess I don't give her enough credit.
I definitely recommend giving it a try. Not one tear was shed. Like I said I was in complete and utter SHOCK!

oh I have to try this...this is is the best idea ever!

I tried the "paci fairy" that did not work we gave up after 2 hours of crying..

Our situation is getting pretty pathetic...a month a way turning three and he still sucks away! Chat Icon

I really think this will work becuase he really understands the concept of paying for something when we go to a store. When I explain to him I have no money to buy something he accepts the fact and moves on....but to pay with our pacifiers...Brilliant!
