I've seen pictures of tattooed women in their wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, or just dressy dresses that looked beautiful. My cousin had a gray wolf with green eyes on her shoulder and it looked great with the green dresses we wore for my sister's wedding. Then of course, there's Kitty (as in KittytheStray) who I thought looked kick-*** in her wedding photos.
Again, to each their own. If the tattoos were of rotting corpses with blood dripping down their backs, it might not look so hot on your wedding day. 
Leslie, what does your tattoo mean? I think it's pretty. 
And btw, I picked the same spot so I could control when and how it is seen if I wanted. But my hair is much longer than yours!

I chose: Some places/kinds are trashy. I like many styles of tattoos, but there are just some locations that the public doesn't need to see where you have then, KWIM?

Leslie, YAY!
I love your tat and I loved that you covered it
and Greenie reminded me that Kara's wedding pics are the FIRST pics I've ever seen that were so beautiful TATS and all...so I guess it IS on a case by case basis, so I mispoke in my original post.
I am thinking most especially of the Angelica Glass pics. I truly loved them.

Besides the fact that she had gorgeous subjects  , I really love her work and that she can use photoshop just enough, without going overboard. She is one talented lady.
I never knew Kitty had tats until I saw those pictures. And so many of the photos were so artfully done - just the right amount of flair with her tattoos and heels but still some formalness too, you know?

I'm glad - the last time I brought up tattoos, I didn't want it to go there and said so, because I really was looking for specific opinions, not drama.

I happen to have 2, one a big blue crayon on my left arm and a celtic heart on my back.
I have the opinion of its your body do what you want, however I am not a fan of sleeves on a woman or a man.
ETA: I covered my one on my arm for my wedding with makeup, the one on my back was low enough it didn't matter. Image Attachment(s):

I have none but I enjoy checking them out on both men and women. I just don't like when someone has a tattoo of a style that is way too common and holds no specific meaning to that person other than that it looked cool or it was trendy at the time.

I think that's the point of a tattoo... It's an extension of who YOU are.
If Kara had covered them up, it would have almost been like she was covering up part of who she is.
I'm not saying tattoos completely define a person, but IMO they sure are a piece of their identity.

I don't think tats are trashy. I think the TAT OWNER can be trashy and therefore people think the tat makes them trashy. But it isn't the same thing.
Today, I was in a store and I saw these two men standing side by side. They were both wearing the identical "southern working man" uniform. Dark blue jeans, workman boots, a short sleeve shirt and a tat on their bicep. They even had identical tat's. While I didn't find the tat to be trashing, I found it to be boring. It was the same tat that I have seen on so many men that it didn't interest me at all.
My husband LOVES the tat sleeve on the American Idol chick Carlie. His exact words last week were "damn, that is sexy". Would I personally commit to a full sleeve tat? No, I don't think so. Would I possibly get a small tat in a covered area? Yes, possibly. But I wouldn't expect a tat to make me trashy. Actions make a person trashy, not ink.
BTW, I also agree regarding formal wear with tats. Kitty's tats are PHENOMENAL and didn't detract from her wedding photos at all. They seemed perfectly in balance with her personality. But I can't say the same for every woman that I have seen with tat's wearing a wedding gown. Sometimes, it just doesn't fit.

I like tattoos... I think they are beautiful works of art and if a woman has the balls to wear sleeves, I think it's hot..
I can't wait to get my next tattoo.. I would have them all over if I didn't work in a corporate environment

WOW, ladies, thank you so much! It was great to come back on here today after months of not posting because of tax season and see this thread!
I look at girls like 'Beavis80' who have full sleeves and I think they are drop dead gorgeous. I don't care what others do to their bodies, just like I don't care what people think of what I do to mine.

i have to admit, i do kinda of smirk when i see tattoos poorly done. almost feeling embarrassed for them but i don't care what others do with their bodies. it's my place to judge them.

It is the astrological signs of my parents on the sides that blend with a slightly larger version of my sign in the middle. As for my hair, its been a while since I've seen you last. My hair is now past my shoulders. I could hide the tattoo if I wanted to.

i also wanted to add to what people were saying about what the skin will look like when you're 80.. you're skin will be just as ugly and saggy as mine. i'm pretty sure no one is gonna care what either of our skin looks like at that age.
