Interesting! My period is a week late now and I actually took a pregnancy test because I thought I might be. It was negative. I wonder if it's because of the shot.
ETA: I'm 35 and NEVER late. I've been late three times.. and pregnant all three.
So... um... I was right about one thing. I'm never late. Unless I'm pregnant. Which I am.
ETA: Nothing about any false positive pregnancy tests right?? Please?! This was NOT part of the plan.
Congratulations!

Too much apparently!! As soon as we're sure this baby is healthy, DH is getting SNIPPED. We're too fertile.
ETA: And thank you! I'm okay- sh!tting a brick, but ok!

I understand the hesitancy in vaccinating children. For me, I will likely vaccinate my DD when it becomes available. I do not think the virus is much danger to children at all and wouldn’t be in any rush if this boiled down only to the effects of the virus. However, the near constant quarantines and the gaps in her emotional, social and academic growth are becoming too wide and I suspect vaccinated children would not be subject to quarantine rules. As long as the safety data doesn’t warrant any concern she’ll be vaccinated. She needs to go to school.
My oldest will be getting his first vaccine soon mostly for the reasons described. We’re all tired of the quarantines and restrictions. My kids are so much happier when they’re in school and able to see friends in person. I don’t think my other kids will be eligible for a while. I definitely understand the hesitation, but for us, the benefits outweigh the risks.

And have the schools definitively said that vaccinated children don't have to quarantine. Because I can totally see them keeping the quarantine regardless. Just like we kept masks. I wouldn't count on that if that's your reason to vaccinate your kid

They're not quarantining teachers who are vaccinated as far as I've seen so it shouldn't be difficult to do the same for students.

If they follow the CDC guidance, they shouldn’t have to quarantine. My district updated the quarantine guidance on its website shortly after kids 16+ were eligible to be vaccinated to state that it applies to those who aren’t fully vaccinated. Most schools in my area (CT) seem to be following state guidance in relaxing travel restrictions, distancing, etc. I do think masks will continue, especially in the lower grades though.
I have plenty of reasons why I would vaccinate. Not having to quarantine would be an added benefit.

You also don’t have to do a school quarantine if exposed if you have had a positive test in the past 90 days so districts are relaxing some rules.
ETA - I came on to respond that even though my cycle is wonky my mammo from earlier this week was normal.

I guess I feel differently as my daughter has not had to miss one day of in person instruction this year due to a quarantine. I know I was dodging bullets like crazy.to escape unscathed. But I figure it will only be better next year

My son never had to quarantine either, and he was going full week every other week. Even when we got sick he didn’t have to quarantine since it was right before school break. So we lucked out and his classes and school are small size. I don’t think they will mandate the vaccine in school, keeping my fingers crossed. I don’t see any need to, the school didn’t close down once. I rather keep the mask then make him get the vaccine.

You are both very lucky. My DD missed 6 weeks of school in total. A month and a half of school due to other children testing positive. I can’t relive that.

Not so lucky as my son was remote two weeks out of every month. So trust me, I dealt with the remote turmoil and still dealing with it since he can’t be trusted with a laptop in front of his face for 8 hrs straight. He basically was out of school, remote learning for 20 weeks this year.

Congrats!

I got my 2nd dose on day 1 of my period. Typically it lasts 7 days and very heavy the first 3-4. Well after day 2, it stopped. I have never had a cycle that short. Very weird, imo.

This totally makes sense. Every time I’m sick, my period is different. Fibromyalgia itself made it horrible until I got my flares under control. So yea i guess i can see the immune response of the shot could make your period different. I never thought of it that way before.

Vaccinated high schoolers in my district no longer need to quarantine so I don’t think they would have to.
ETA: People are all up in arms over showing proof of vaccination. I will pin her vaccination card to her shirt and scream “not today *****” at the school nurse.
I guess I feel differently as my daughter has not had to kuss one day of in person instruction this year due to a quarantine. I know I was dodging bullets like crazy.to escape unscathed. But I figuree it will only be better next year
My son never had to quarantine either, and he was going full week every other week.
We were lucky to not have to do a school quarantine but in the first half of the year my kids only went to school about 20 days in person. The second half has gone better - at the end of Feb, my third grader started going 3 days a week, mid March, my 5th grader started going 3 days every other week and on 4/19 - they both went back full time which has been phenomenal for us all. Today is 5th grade field day and it was so nice to just send in a small string bag in!
