Re: Wood floor in kitchen?
my girlfriend just had this installed and she said she made a mistake (even though it looks beautiful). She also choose a very dark wood, so it shows every flaw

Re: Wood floor in kitchen?
Another option is to have the look of wood, but with tile. Have a look at what we did in this kitchen. This is actually TILE flooring: "Bistro on the Bay" - Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly

Re: Wood floor in kitchen?
I have wood floors in the kitchen and love them. Never had an issue. There is an area rug in front of the sink another another the kitchen table. Love the warmth of the wood and the area rugs combined. I am not a fan of tiles except for the baths and foyer so I would 100% vote for wood in the kitchen.

Re: Wood floor in kitchen?
We recently exented our wood floors into our kitchen. We have an open floor plan and it makes it look bigger. We had ceramic tile, I hated it. It was hard, cold and the grout made me nuts. I think the floor looks even better as it gets used. We even have wood floors in our guest bathroom. It has a shower that gets used pretty regularly with no problems to the floor.
