Wood floor question
Is $5,500 a reasonable price to install pre-finished wood floors in an area of 500 square feet? It sounds like a lot to me but Its the first estimate we received so I don't actually know. TIA

Does that price include the floors? Average install prices are between 2.50 -3.50 a square foot. There are a few things that would factor into that including if they are ripping out the old floor and/or installing new sub floor. Hubby and I both work in the industry so FM me if you have a question.

Re: Wood floor question
DH and I put wood floors in the bedroom of our old house and that price seems a bit pricey to me....it cost us about $1600 for around 300 square feet... We used lumber liquidators and they were great!! They removed our carpet and did the install in a couple of hours... We got pricing from Empire (which was NUTS) as well as a GC who was still higher....
Good Luck!

Wood floor question
A lot would depend upon the type of flooring (some is very inexpensive per sq foot and others are $$$$$) - typically, the wider the plank the more money, and exotic woods are more. Also, are they doing a subfloor? Demo of old floor?
