Re: Work intentions after maternity leave - UPDATE
If I were you, I'd wait and see what they are going to offer you. Nothing is really set yet and they seem to appreciate you and your work. I'm certain since they seem to appreciate the work that you do at their company that they'd try to arrange something that will work in everyone's favor. Hang in there.

I never went for the CPA. Just got a business degree. I had intentions of becoming a CFA but didn't follow through with that either . I worked my way up in this company. We do forensic work. I guess I'll have to just see what they come back to me with. I hope I didn't make a mistake of buying a house.
I would love to hear more about what you do...I'm a CFP and work as an analyst.
As you know, you didn't make a mistake buying the house. That is a good thing! If worse came to worse, you could always get a job waitressing at night to cover bills. Everything works out in the end.

I will send you a FM - I'm sure nobody else wants to hear the long boring description, lol.

Be careful though, if you work in an office of less then 50 you are not covered by FMLA leave and your boss can get rid of your position if he wants to.
Is that really true? I thought the FMLA covers anyone regardless of office size.

Re: Work intentions after maternity leave - UPDATE
I said I'd like to take the 12 weeks and he said they don't offer that here
Isn't FMLA a federal law allowing women to take 12 weeks for the birth of a child? Wouldnt a FEDERAL LAW far surpasss what a a$$hole of a boss "allows"???? This is really confusing me. Do we have any lawyers that can explain this? I can't believe how many women feel they cannot speak to their boss about having a baby or leaving for maternity leave. I have not told my boss I am preggo yet, but if he puts me ina bad sitatuation, I would said FU and find a new job where women have rights.

Nope, unfortunately, not if it is less than 50 employees.

that is 100% true! FMLA only applies to companies with 50 employees or more.
