at my job no one really cares. its very easy going around here. but I would usually make sure I either came in earlier, or took a shorter lunch to just cover the time. But thats just how I am.
Leaving early for a family rehearsal dinner is really not too much to ask for. That was a crappy response.

ugh... she's an idiot. At my job we say. Im lvn 1 or 2 hours early or coming in late and that's that. no biggie. unless its habitually then it's a problem.

Work related question- RE time off
I’d shoot her an email the week before telling her you are leaving at so and so time on so and so date for a personal matter and then block it off in my calendar.
