Working mommies...please come answer a question for me...

For those of you moms who work full-time outside of the house, what is your routine like once you get home? I'm just really curious. I come home and everything I do is about Ava because I am the only one here and if I don't take care of her, no one will. So, I'm just being nosey, yet again, as to what your routine is once you get home.

Re: Working mommies...please come answer a question for me...

I am lucky to have Dh home. We are both teachers:

Home ( 4PM)
homeowrk with Sammy
I go to the gym at least 3x aweek if I can.
Bath ( 5PM) DH bathes if I am at the gym
Dinner : we take turns making dinner and feeding sara
botttle at 7:00
bedtime for Sara

The day goes so fast before I know it Sara is asleep which makes me sad. I do like my time but I want more time with Sra. She falls aslseep by &PM

Re: Working mommies...please come answer a question for me...

I pick up my son after school and we go home and play for a few hours. I feed him at about 7, bath at 7:30 and bed at 8 (but it usually is around 9). My Dh gets home between 7 and 8 so I'm usually on my own in the afternoon/evenings. I realized that I have no me time. I'm either working or watching him, but I don't miss it either. My dad is always trying to gt me to leave him there for a few hours, but I never do.

Re: Working mommies...please come answer a question for me...

I have DS by myself at night since DH is working. I get home around 6:30-7:00. Once the nanny leaves, it's all about DS. We play for about 1/2 hour or so, then I take him upstairs and change him into his pjs. I give him his bedtime bottle, then he's usually in bed by 8-8:15. Then I get my crap ready for work the next day and then feel like I got nothing accomplished Chat Icon

ETA: Bath time is in the morning with the nanny right now, but he starts daycare March 1. So somehow I'll have to fit that in too.

Dh is sometimes home for dinner, but usually not.

Here is our routine.

Home about 4.
Nap from 4:30 to 5:30 or 6 (which I hate, because I don't have much time with her as it is, but I have tried getting rid of it and it is not pretty)
Dinner around 6.
Play until about 7:30 or 8.
Bath.
Play till about 8:45 or 9, depending on how long her nap was- that is how I judge bedtime.
Story time.
Bed.

Re: Working mommies...please come answer a question for me...

Well, I guess I'll answer my own question:

I usually get home by 4-4:30 the latest.
Play for an hour.
5:30-Ava gets dinner
6:00 bath time
6:15-30-ish: play some more, wind down, have a bottle.
7pm-7:30-bedtime.

Then I finally get to clean up everything from her dinner, her bath, her playtime. Then I finally make myself dinner, come on here and what not.
I hate when she goes to bed because I feel just how lonely it is here at night.

Depending if she is at daycare or my mom has her. I get home with her around 5. Sometimes she will fall asleep in the car on the way home from daycare sometimes not-- 50/50 shot here. We come home unpack daycare bag or send Grandma on her way. We play and cuddle if we are not napping until 6. I make dinner. I usually give her dinner around 6:30ish. Then she will play while I clean up. We will continue to play together until 7:30 if it's bath night. If it's not then around 7:30 I will start winding her down with her play. At 8:00 into pjs brush teeth read 2 stories rock for a few minutes and into bed.

Mommy time or working until bed.

Hope that helps.

When they were infants:

6:45ish come home
7:00pm Dinner (DH cooked)
7:30pm Hose down infant, get him/her in pjs
8:00pm bedtime story & bed

8:00-9:30pm - clean up from dinner, wash bottles, prepare bottles for tomorrow, fold laundry, get clothes ready for tomorrow, check on dc hoping not to wake them
9:45ish - watch TV, fold clothes, shower, dry hair, etc.
10:30-11ish - dream feed dc

now it's :

6:45ish - come home
7:00pm - eat dinner
7:30pm - clean up from dinner, run baths for kids
8:00pm - bedtime, bedtime stories
9:00pm - Maddie gets out of bed to tell me she loves me & needs to give me a hug
9:30pm - Maddie gets back out of bed to go potty
10:00pm - fold laundry, clean up dinner
10:30ish - make lunch, lay out clothes / shower

LIF is scattered throughout the night.

I don't work full time, 3 days a week. I usually get home from work anywhere between 6:30-7 and it is all about Molly as soon as I get home. I get home, pick her up and I go change. Then we play until about 7 when she has cereal. Then a bath and PJs. I read a story and bed by 8:30-9.

I get home anytime around between 5-6:30. Usually that includes about 1/2 hour playtime with the boys, baths (if needed that night). Then they get fed their bottle between 7-8 and it's bedtime. After they are down, I either read, clean up, take a shower for the next day or watch tv for an hour ot two

Makes me Chat Icon that i only get to spend a total of about 1-2 hours with them on the days i work.
