working mommy questions- need advice!

I went back to work 2 weeks ago. when I was home with DS I was overwhelmed. Now that I am working it's soooo much worse. I have to drop him at inlaws and sit in so much traffic by the time I get to work, I'm so tired and don't feel like doing anything!

The other morning I was so stressed because the baby was cranky , giving me a hard time, and wouldn't get into his carset, wouldnt' drink his bottle, I was almost in TEARS and I was a half hour late to work.

how do you all do it?!?!?!?! I'm starting to wonder if I made the right decision by going back Chat Icon

IMO, they have bad days just like we do. I'm sure tomorrow will be easier.

It is HARD at first. As much as I DREADED it, I got up an hour earlier, just to leave myself as much time as possible. i also put DD to bed early and made a schedule. A schedule for DH and I so spend alone time together, b/c i was so exhausted the first few weeks I went back to work. After a few weeks you get into a groove and don't need the schedule anymore. It just gets better. I get up much earlier than I used to. But you just get a routine, and uasually it stays the same every day.

You will establish a routine and it will get a lot easier very soon! What I do is take a shower at night so that I just have to wash my face and get dressed in the morning because I have a 2 yr old and a 6 month old to get to my mom's on my own since DH goes into work very early.

It all works out and then you really enjoy your morning cup of coffee at work!Chat Icon

I agree with everyone else. It does get better. And you will fall into a routine. the key for me is do as much as I can the night before. Mine and his clothes picked out. Food ready for both of us. It helps me that DH is around in the morning up until the last 15 minutes. Sometimes he fights me to get his coat on, get in the seat, etc. However, I leave enough time in the event that this happens. I do also have to get up a lot earlier than I did pre-baby. By now I'm so used to it.

Remember, it does get better!!!!

What you're feeling right now is normal. I can SO relate!!!!
