My aunt just came from Europe and asked me when I was done working, I said I'm working till the end, she looked at me like I had five heads, in Austria, where s he currently lives, they make you stop working at 7 mos, and then you get TWO YEARS FULLY PAID and your job is waiting for you!!!!!!!!!! UM, I say we all move there....
Wow, I am suddenly very jealous
It is amazing - however you have to look at the flip side - ask your friend how much she pays in taxes.... the money to pay for 2 year maternity leave has to come from somewhere. Many of these countries pay around 50% of their salaries to taxes. They get a lot of government benefits in return.

Re: Working Mother's Magazine... 100 Best Companies
My company is on there but it is so skewed. We have different divisions and the Healthcare/Pharma division that is located in a different state get all the perks. We get not one of them in our division but they claim the entire company is working mom friendly. NOT!!!!
Besides having a policy in words and then actually allowing employees the flexibility are 2 different things. All policies are there but end with "as the business allows" but the business never allows
