Worried about the weather coming? OH OPHELIA!! (Updated with forecasted rain totals)
Lots of rain coming and winds. Concern for those of us that have outdoor plans on Saturday is when the rain actually gets out of here. So far, the worst of the weather is Thursday night into Friday. Friday morning commute looks wet and icky.
Winds will be BLOWING SaturdaY and possibly even Sunday. So tents are a no go. (Jess, not sure what things you have planned outdoors for the party, but I would stay away from things that could become airborne in high winds. Are you still doing the tarps?)
Imagine the pressure I have as my husband and I are meteorologists and we have a family wedding in Central Park on Saturday. I feel the need to go throw up. 
BTW: Many media are using the term "Noreaster" for this storm. They are correct. But many meteorologists are backing off of this word because Noreaster instills fear in people. Kind of like adding a name to a storm with winds and rain (Cough, cough, Earl.)
There will be rain and wind. No need for a panic. Although, if you want to run through the streets naked, I can't stop you. Speaking of.... I know Jessica and I will be out there sucking over the next few days. 
I will update here as I know more. Details will come. As always, I don't know if your plane will be delayed.

UPDATE:
I was surprised they already comprised this, but here it is:
I truly believe the amounts of forecasted rain will increase over the next day. So keep checking back. Not so bad though. (Most will fall overnight Thursday into Friday morning)

thanks for the update. maybe this won't be the best weekend for raking the leaves in the yard... i might just let the wind push them to the neighbor's yard

Thanks for the update - love your posts and I hope the bride isn't throwing daggers at you both on saturday if she has to run through the rain you know its supposed to be good luck if it rains on your wedding day

As soon as she told me her plans over a year ago, she got the speech about weather and how stressful wedding planning is without having to keep looking at the forecast. Although, she doesn't need to look at the forecast because she has us. My uncle (Father of the bride) already said I am holding her umbrella if it rains. I tried telling him to enlist a skinny chick as I would block the bride. He said no.

Yep. This is why I am getting my hair done. That way I am not dealing with the friz of a curly girl gone mad.

Thanks for posting. I have a wedding too on Saturday (indoors) but, I'm hoping all of the out of town guests make it in for it - we had that issue for my wedding, there was a noreaster the day before and we had some guests get stuck in Baltimore during their Southwest connection and had to find other ways to get to NY.

Every airport has a different reason for delays. For instance: Newark closes one runway when winds are out of the northwest. (I think it is northwest) The winds don't even have to be that strong, just that particular runway can't handle winds from that direction. Every airport is different for directions, speed, etc.
I don't know about flights and I won't pretend to know.

I got married last year on Sunday 10/18 in Manhattan and it was the exact same weather!  They labeled it a Noreaster or remnents of one, and I can't believe a year later the exact same thing.
I live in Atlanta so it looks like I will at least have some nice weather for my 1 year anniversary!
Wishing the best to those affected by the bad weather.
