Worst mother award goes to me
Today when I was starting dinner, I had to search through the pantry for the lentils. DS (2) was playing underneath me. I reached up to grab them, and a soup can falls and hits him on the head. He started screaming  and blood was pouring down his face.
I grabbed a washcloth and put pressure on the cut for 20 minutes, and he seemed fine. I gave him a bath to wash off all the blood and put him on the couch. Then all of a sudden it started bleeding again and wouldn't stop 
We rushed him to the ER and he needed to get a staple in. I left the room because I get very queasy with stuff like that. Then I heard ,"Ow, that hurt! Why did you do that to me!" And hysterical crying. 
And I feel like the crappiest mother ever. I should have known better than to let him sit there, or I should have been fast enough to catch the can. Now my poor DS had to get hs first stitches right before Christmas.

Oooohhhh! I am so sorry for you and your son  These things happen, it could've happened to anyone. Lesson learned and don't worry you are still an awesome mommy

You are not a bad mother at all. Accidents happen to all of us. I think what shows the kind of Mommy you are is how well you took care of him after it happened.

Awwww...as much as you wont believe me right now, this could have happened to ANY of us.......no matter how hard we try, they can always wind up under somewhere or something they shouldn't...sooooo not your fault...

if it makes you feel better i yelled at my 3-month-old son this morning and made him cry   i felt like the worst mommy then!!

I had a kitchen accident earlier this week too, so don't let this upset you too much. Like everyone else will say, accident's will happen. I am so sorry it happend and I hope he heals really quick!!!

Try not to beat yourself up, there was no way you could have forseen that. What would make you a bad mom is if you threw it at him. 
I'm sorry he got hurt, but trust me, he won't remember it and he will love you just as much tomorrow, if not more, than he did today.
