Worst Mother Of The Year Award goes to ME!
I left my sons lovie (GEORGE) in a shopping cart at BJ's yesterday and we went back last to search for him and he is GONE! My almost 4 year year old is devastated, and heartbroken! And I feel plain awful about it! My DH and I both feel like we lost a member of our family. I sobbed in the car on the way home thinking of all the times I would hear Teddy say "Oh George" and laugh. Or watching him run across the lawn with George in his hand while george flew next to him. Watching him sleep while cuddling his george. He has never slept without him and last night I was putting him to bed and he put his hand on my shoulder and said
"It's okay mommy! I miss him, but I atleast I still have you". Which broke my heart even further.

Ian's lovie is a hand me down blanket. if he loses it (or i lose it) i have no idea how i'll replace it!

awww...thats so sad, but at least he's doing ok.
we lost one of DS's little blankies that have the bears attached to it in walmart. I ran all over the store to go back and find it and couldnt. DS was ok but when we were in JCPenny one day and saw them on the rack he flipped out so i bought him another one.
i keep one at daycare too.
i felt like sh** that we lost it in walmart.

DS's is no longer made, and I paid $30 on ebay for a USED one for a backup that we hide in case of emergency. I can't believe I paid $30 for a used blankie!!!!

Thank you all but george was irreplaceable!!! My DH's aunt bought him randomly for him when she went to Borders Books. We had another one I had gotten on ebay (FOR A INSANE AMOUNT OF $$$$) and tried to replace him years ago but Teddy would have none of it. Still won't! He keeps asking for him and when I tell him where he is he gets his  and asks for a hug from me instead!!! I feel so terribly, and I can't stop crying. He is such a good kid! He's taking it hard, but well at the same time!

I have called at least a dozen times, we went back there last night at 9 to look for him, we scoured the place, my husband even looked to see if he had been tossed in the garbage cans. He was gone!

So sorry to hear this! What a sweet little boy. I am so afraid of losing DD's lovie...I know so many people this has happened to. Don't feel like a bad mom...you are such a good mom for caring so much about the fact that he is gone

I'm sure you are not the worst mother of the year by FAR!!!!! I'm sure you feel terrible, but that is so sweet what DS said to you!
I am so scared of ever losing DD's lovie that I never bring it out of the house. When we travel, I always bring it in a carry on bag too!
I too bought a $30 one off of Ebay and she knows the difference and wouldn't even look at the replacement. Her lovie is fallign apart and I hate to think about the day that we have to get rid of it.
