would a tooth start out as a bump BEHIND the gum????
its the only thing we can pinpoint as to our new "sleeping" patterns (notice how I used quotes on the word *sleeping*  )  and today we noticwed what is a hard bump behind her gums on the bottom...is this teething????

Probably. My son recently had a bump & bruise on his gums which I never saw before with my older kids. It was his tooth waiting to come out and the ped said not to be surprised if it bled when the tooth cut through (it never did bleed but it looked so strange)

DD just cut her first tooth this past sunday. she's been teething for several months tho. the last month, u can clearly see a tooth 'hiding' in her gums. the gums appear whiter and yes, bumpier.

For Marron, it started out kind of in the front of the gum, so I would imagine it could start in back too.
