Would you be angry if someone else blew out the candles at your DC 1st birthday party?
This happened to us. Someone blew the candle out at DS party in the middle of singing to him. I am farking LIVID!! I haven't slept all night thinking about it. It's on our video & I will always be reminded of this & I am so ******!!

Yes I would be very upset! Did you say anything to him? What would make anyone do that, but his grandafther no excuse. Sorry you had to go thru that.

Yes I would be angry but speaking from experience on these things in the scheme of things later on in life, it will matter less & less as time goes on.
Don't watch the video for awhile & *try* to start joking about the adult that acted like a child.

You know, I was thinking of doing that but realized that by the time I found the waitress for her lighter, the song would have been completely over & I would look like a psycho making everyone sing again. DH knows I'm ****** & this is typical for my IL's. They always need to be in the spotlight even when it has nothing to do with them. This took the cake & now I am distancing myself & where I don't go my DS doesn't go.

That is so obnoxious. I would also be livid.  ESPECIALLY the first bday, *****?
That being said, it is over and unfortunately you can't change it now. I think you should try and just move past it as best you can. Next bday though, make sure the IL's are far away from any cake!

I know! I told DH that from now on, only the 3 of us have b-day cake with our kids. I'm trying to get this out of my mind but knowing that I probably won't be able to watch DS' video for a while really upsets me. I seriously can't stand these people.
