Would you use the diapers from a diaper cake?
my gf made me a beautiful diaper cake for my shower... but it fell apart during transit home. I wanted to put it back together and leave it in DD's nursery. DH wants to use the diapers, but MIL thinks it's unsanitary to use them.
WWYD?

I was thinking about this yesterday as i was looking at DD diaper cake.. i don't know if i would use them b/c they have been handled.. they may have hot glue on them if the person who made the cake stuck anything on it..

there were no glue on them, just rubber bands & ribbons... that's why they fell apart

I used all 250 of mine!
Most people only handle the outside of a diaper when making the cake. In fact, I wouldn't know anybody that would need to OPEN a diaper to make the cake. And if they fell on the floor, or whatever, isn't still the outside of the diaper? If it fell on raw chicken, then I'd have a different answer.

Absolutely - do youi know how many diapers it takes to make one of those things ??? 
Seems like a waste to me NOT to use them -
And anyone making one should know better than to use hot glue or something like that -
As for being 'unsanitary' ........I don't see why - You're just rolling the diapers from the outside

One of my wonderful friend on this site made one for me. It was gorgeous!!! And I used them all. It was not "wasted".

I would definately use them, my mom makes big beautiful diaper cakes and uses whatever the mom has on her registry or prefers.

My SIL made me a beautiful one. I was bored 2 days after my shower and took the whole thing apart. I used most of the diapers...She was ******...lol

Well what goes into the diapers is pretty unsanitary so I wouldn't worry about that. I planned on using mine but now both of my kids are out of size 1's so they will be going to my sister

I used mine. The person who gave it to me purposely didn't use glue so that I could use the diapers. Plus she was my godmother so it wasn't like a total stranger was handling the diapers.

I got a few diaper cakes and used them all! Things usually get glued to ribbons - I don't think I had anything actually glued to a diaper.

I spoke to my pediatrician when making my cousins cake and he said to use a hot glue gun if any glue at all. It comes off entirely, and doesn't leave a residue. Plus it's on the outside of the diaper. My cousin used every single diaper. And I was ****ed because that was the reason I had made the diaper cake.

I did! The diapers aren't opened up so the inside of them that touches the baby is clean and untouched.

i have always used the diapers from the cakes, and when i make my cakes i only use pampers.
i know plenty of people who use no-name brands and those are the ones i wouldnt use..

My sister made me my cake with the intention of me using the diapers.
I've made diaper cakes for people and I always expect them to use the diapers. I acutally use different brands of diapers for the cake and tell the person so that way they can try them all out without having to buy them themselves.
