Yes please!!! I live on a dead end street now, about 4 houses in...and we love it...we know most of the people driving by...

When we buy our own house, I'd prefer a dead end or cul-de-sac, and I'd LOVE to be one of the houses at the end of the cul-de-sac...we'll see!

I grew up on a dead end, and live on one now, but never near the end. It's great, as a kid we always played ball in the street and we could literally run to each other's houses.

I definitely would. I grew up the last house on a dead end. It was nice because just about every house had kids and we could play in the street and go to everyones houses because the only cars were our families. We had a pretty long dead end too.... About 6 houses on each side. The end of the dead end was the backyard of another house so it wasnt scary woods or anything.

Depends.

If the cul-de-sac was off a busy or semi-busy road, then no. I'm not a big fan of solitary roads/courts/dead ends off of roads.

If it was part of a walkable neighborhood, then yes. I grew up in a court that was part of a larger neighborhood that didn't have a lot of traffic. It was a large walkable block with a lot of courts/cul-de-sacs and other connecting roads.

We live on a dead end and love it. There is no thru traffic. The kids on the block play in the street all the time. It's great!

I grew up on a dead end. LOVED IT. Perfect for kids. My friends house was the dead end house, so she had a different street address but we were always on my block playing. It was great for riding bikes, setting up hockey nets, or bike ramps etc.

I wish we lived on one now. Well technically my block ends in a cul-de sac...but I am pretty far from that end of the block!

We live on a "no outlet" street, and I love it.

We're not at the end. I dont think I'd want to live at the end.

There's not a lot of traffic, and most of the time if someone's driving down the street, they either live here or got lost.

I would-right now I live on a dirt road(in teh center of town-weird but anyway) Unfortunately it is a cut through between two major roads so there is quite a bit of traffic.

I also think the resale value is probably better in a cul-de-sac or dead end...

I grew up on a dead end and loved it. There was hardly any traffic, very safe with kids. My son lives on a cul de sac and loves it.

we just bought on a dead end and we are the last house, but on one side of the road, there is no dead end house, its a park. so far I really like it. Its very quite, and no one drives by our house at all and the rd continues for a bit past our house till it ends at the park. thee is no parking lot for the park, but no one parks at the end of the road. if anyone uses it, they walk there.

we bid on a house in a cul de sac and I didn't like that everyone was sort of facing everyone else. instead of facing 1 house you kinda face all of the court. and the street parking is a PIA. if your neighbors do the head in instead of parking the right way or if you have guests over etc. the same thing was true with the backyard. (at least with this house) it was on 1acre of land but it still had multiple neighbors behind because the street behind them was not a cul de sac. without a large backyard or a lot of trees I wouldn't like that

we live on a cul-de-sac but we aren't in the culd-de-sac, more of the middle of the block....

We are the last house on a dead end street! We love it! Also, as a previous poster said ... the end of the dead end is someones backyard and not a sump or wooded area. We love it! The side street is also a dead end. No one drives down our block, we have so much privacy and when we have children I will be able to sit on my stoop and watch them play w/o worrying about the kids dodging cars!


The way people literally SPEED down the streets nowadays is rediculous and very unsafe, Im happy to avoid that in front of my house.

I live on a dead end street and I absolutely LOVE it. It was what I looked for and I was thrilled when I found it. I wanted to be on the end.. but our house is 3rd from the end.

The only con is that we will occasionally get a stray car that wandered down the wrong street and has to pull a u turn in our driveway - but that's really no great shakes to me. It's quiet. I sit outside and the boys get to play basketball, skateboard and bike ride with few interruptions.

I would love to live on either.

Our friends live on a cul-de-sac & all the kids play in the street, ride their bikes. It's nice and quite, only traffic is from the people who live their & their guests.

I live on a dead end off a busy street and people always make u-turns. They think it is a through street and race to the end to realize it isn't.

If it wasn't a busy street, I would love it.

I live on a Dead End and we love it. No one ever drives down our block, except the homeowners. We all know that we all have young kids so we drive nice and slow. Its great!

I grew up in a house that is the last house on a dead end street, it was brilliant! In the winter the snow plow would plow a GIANT moutain of snow outside our house and we all loved it! Also, hardly any cars came down and we could play in the street. When I go home these days there is no traffic so the kids play in the street all day long!
