Re: Would you want to live on a Cul De Sac or a dead end street?
I live on a dead end and it is so great. We know every car that comes down the block and we like the neighborhood watch when there is a car we don't know! There are alot of kids on the block and they all play outside and on the street with no fear of speeding cars or anything like that. Our street is very quiet and private.

I live on a dead end street and I loveit. It's so quiet. I also used to rent a house on a dead end street, we were the last house. It was great

Posted by HeatherRose A house in a cul de sac and I didn't like that everyone was sort of facing everyone else.
I think either of are great for all those reasons listed earlier. My preference is a dead end street, which I live now instead of a cul de sac because the exact same reason that HeatherRose posted above.

We live at the end of a cul de sac and love it! It's one of the main reasons we bought this house. It gives me peace knowing that when DS is old enough to play outside, there won't be any speeding cars in the street.

I would actually prefer it! MY parents house is on a culdesac and it so so quiet and safe b/c there are hardly any cars coming down the street.

Depends.
If the cul-de-sac was off a busy or semi-busy road, then no. I'm not a big fan of solitary roads/courts/dead ends off of roads.
If it was part of a walkable neighborhood, then yes. I grew up in a court that was part of a larger neighborhood that didn't have a lot of traffic. It was a large walkable block with a lot of courts/cul-de-sacs and other connecting roads.
This is the exact type of court that we live on (part of a larger, walkable neighborhood). There are 3 houses on our court. We LOVE it . Very quiet and private.

We bought on a dead end - we are only the 2nd house in on the left - not in the dead end. I like this because we aren't in the dead end, but the street is quiet and no one really comes in there that doesn't live there.
Thats exactly like me and I really like it too!
ditto!!!
it's nice so I don't have to look at other people's cars in front (parking the straight in way that most people do on a caul-de-sac), but we get the nice "Street look" minus any of the traffic!!!

Re: Would you want to live on a Cul De Sac or a dead end street?
For the most part I would consider a dead end or a cul-de-sac to be very desirable. For me it would depend a little bit on what is adjacent to the house. In my area there are a lot of cul-de-sacs adjacent to the backs of shopping centers and I'm not a huge fan of that. I'd actually prefer to be surrounded by other homes.
