Wow CRAZY experience with a receptionist today! Update page 2

I just want to preface by saying that when I talk to people over the phone .. receptionists.. doctors.. whatever.. I'm VERY nice unless I have some reason not to be- and even then I try to remain calm. I consider myself a pleasant person in general, so when people go batshit crazy on me, I am usually like ... Last week, my dh went to a new dentist because our last one had retired. The dentist told him that he has to get a lot of work done. He wasn't too surprised- but the amount that the dentist was talking about just seemed EXCESSIVE and not consistent with what our last dentist spoke to him about. I called up my mom who had seen this dentist recently and she agreed that she's not so sure he was trustworthy because he told my mom about lots of issues too - which is unusual for her.

I cancelled my appointment for today last Thursday because I decided we should look for a different dentist. I found a GREAT one.. I'm VERY comfortable with her, trust her, etc etc. .well ............ I told my dh he MUST see her. Well, I called the other dentist today and told them I'd like to pick up the records. That's when the shit went down....

The receptionist started YELLING at me and told me that if I'm going to be picking up my records she's going to cancel the other appointments my dh made. I told her I wasn't certain we were going to be leaving the practice so I didn't think canceling those appts yet was necessary. She then looses her shit and was like "If you're going to go for second opinions then don't come back, WE DON'T WANT PEOPLE LIKE YOU HERE" Chat Icon (I wanted to be like.. umm, people like me??? sweetie you haven't seen the half of me that you don't want, trust me .. ) Anyway, I kept it together and was like .. "So, we aren't allowed to get a second opinion?" .. She says, "If you're going to go get second opinions then this is ridiculous and DON'T COME BACK!!!" ... She then proceeds to tell me that my dh has gone for other opinions in the past (which is absolutely 100000% false, btw.. I have no idea why she thinks this.. ) and she told me that she doesn't like that I canceled my appointment for today... so to please just take our records and don't return.

Oh- and she is making me pay $140 to pick up the X-rays. Chat Icon

I am not used to getting confrontational like this over the phone... so I kept my shit together (even though my voice was shaking) and was like "Ok, thank you very much!" .. .and then called my dh and multiple friends to vent off some steam

Can you believe this woman??? My parents and I will be going tomorrow to pick up ALL of our records. My mom wants to tell them that she will be getting a second opinion too - and because that's apparently not allowed in their practice AND because of the way they treated me, she wants to take her business elsewhere.

I am just stunned that anyone would treat someone this way. I wish I had a record button on my phone (it's an iPhone, I probably do ... ) because even *I* can't believe any of this happened, and I was a whiteness to it!!!
