For me, it was never JUST the bedroom behavior- it was political AND personal b/c it's about respecting a person- I have to respect you in order to like you as a person and wanting you to represent me... So, it's both.
That, for me, is what it is all about- but you and others feel opposite- That's OK, I understand- I don't think the way you feel is "funny"... I just think it is what it is and you're entitled to that. I actually really like the fact that people have so many different opinions and ways of seeing things. It makes everything more interesting and diverse.
Its great that people have so many different opinions...thats what makes America...America. It is just my opinion that it is funny because for so many presidents what they did in the bedroom wasn't mentioned...and they were some of the greatest leaders this country has ever had

I mean, it's so sad that he was assassinated but I think once he was killed people made him out to be this God that could do no wrong and did so much for the Country... Again, this is all opinion but mine is that, honestly, he didn't do much for me.

Well I guess he wouldn't have seeing as I am not sure you were alive then. I wonder if the media was like it is today, from the very beginning of our countrys history, who in fact would win presidential elections and who wouldn't.

I had this arguement with a friend of mine recently. JFK, one of our most revered and beloved presidents was a horrible womanizer. People knew, or at least suspected it. Yet no one slammed Jackie O for staying with him. Boy how times have changed.
I think the the media also choose not to report about it b/c the Kennedy Presidency was Camelot. They wanted to paint that picture of the president. I think the office of the president was respected back then...
Today, it is all about the mud slinging and sensational stories. So they the media wanted report on Clinton's Affairs and find a way to make him look bad.

True but by no means was Kennedy the only womanizer...I did a study on the Presidents a few years back and the ones who didn't cheat were very very few

No, I was not alive- that is not what I meant and has nothing to do with it...
I meant that, in researching him (which I have done on many occassions) and his presidency-- he didn't do much for me-- like, he didn't really "wow" me or make me feel like he did a whole lot for the Country.
I think his affect on the Country had more to do with emotions and feelings (after he was killed B/C he was killed) then it did with things he did FOR the Country to benefit the Country before he died...

I think it would be great for her to run...and would be great for Obama too...
I do feel uneasy though...I've always felt that the first minority president would be in far greater danger of being assasinated..
some people don't take kindly to any revolutionary ideas...scary thing.

I just never got a warm feeling from her and never felt I could trust what she was saying. It seems she says whats popular and doesn't take a stong stand. I agree that there are a lot of people that HATE her so I think her chances of winning will be a lot tougher then if she was a no name that people didn't alreayd have an opinion about.
I am hoping for Obama, I think he's great!!

Agreed. And he did some pretty underhanded things before he was mayor. Although he "cleaned up" the peep show district, he also single handedly put nearly 10,000 women out of work who were working legally without any regard as to their future. I think he will suffer the most if people dredge up his pat ties and past doings. JMHO.
I think that Hillary is going to have a problem also in this regard. She's going to do the "Bernie Kerik" and believe her own press - then all her dealings will come to lilght. However, Clinton was quite the media darling. She may become the fair haired candidate. She does not make me feel comfortable at all - and I'm a little nervous about her running. I cannot believe that we elected her in New York to be our Senator in the first place. We all knew that this was a solely a jumping off point for her bid for the Presidency, yet we allowed her to run and WIN on her "Celebrity" status. Her record as she approaches election time seems strong - although I, myself, would have voted differently if given the oppotunity.

I'm astounded that some people are actually surprised by this. This is a woman whose every breath has been taken in the direction of a Presidential run.
I, personally, cannot stand her - either personally or professionally. I think she's a cold fish (personally) and I think that she doesn't blow her nose without thinking how it's going to help or hurt her politically.
As far as a woman president, I don't think I'd say we won't see a woman president in our lifetime. But I do think it has to be the right combination - a woman republican, most likely. You need the super conservative repub's who wouldn't ever vote democrat and the liberals would would vote for a woman just to get one in office. I also feel this way about a black, hispanic or Jewish man (or woman, for that matter).
S*cks that people can't just vote for the person they feel would best do the job and that gender, race and religion come into play but it is the world we live in.
I'm hoping either Obama or McCain get into the ultimate race - I'd be thrilled with either as my President.

If people at the time knew FDR was handicapped he NEVER would have been elected....would that have been fair or good for this country? I tend to form my opinion on the candidates political record....not their bedroom one
I agree. I'm surprised how many people don't like her based on their assumptions about her personal life. Since when did you have to have a great personal life to have a great career and be good at what you do? Why not look up what she stands for and then form an opinion?
