Wrong Sex Predicted
My parents best friends daughter was pregnant. She has 3 boys now and was told that her 4th was a girl.
Well....she just had the baby and it was a While I know that I would be happy to have a healthy baby - I would be so pizzed because everything would be for the wrong sex.
I guess we never really know. I am def. going to have the tech. check for my little guys pee pee on Monday. I want a picture of it too!

I know for sure because of the amnio. And mine is not shy about showing his little parts.

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
I guess that one good thing about not finding out! We can't be disappointed, or have stuff for the wrong gender.

Thats why I didnt bother finding out...
You really dont have to set up the baby's room till he/she is born anyway. Some just like to do it ahead of time.

Oh boy, I sure hope this doesn't happen to me. Everything I have is pink and for girls!! At the level 2 I was told it was a girl as well as when I had to go to the hospital. I sure hope they are right!

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
I know! I have heard that it's harder for them to get girls right than it is for boys. Who knows. I guess it's a crapshoot. I really can't imagine the shock though. LOL.

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
All the "older" women in my life (grandparents and such) keep saying "How can you be so sure they know for certain?" But my willingly spreads his legs and flashes us on EVERY sono! He is so proud of his weenie! I have about 4 printed pics of it...there is no mistaking it.

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
Mine has clearly shown one of each on several growth sonos. The other day my boy was very proud
Doesn't matter, the gear and nursery are all gender neutral anyway.

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
This happened to a cousin of a friend of mine. They told her she was having a boy- and then like weeks later- they were like "ooops- its a girl!"

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
This is where we are right now. Only the 3D tech was able to give us an answer and he tried to show us but we don't know what we are looking at We figured we would take his word that it's a girl since we didn't see anything sticking out. We both agreed that if it turns out we are having a boy we will just scramble to get what we need. I have a few boy things just in case. In my heart I do feel that it's a girl - I will be sad if it's not ONLY because I have started to bond with the idea of a girl. I'd hate to think that I missed out on that if it was wrong. But - I'll love my baby no matter what. I realize every day what a blessing it is that we got pregnant and this little one chose us.

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
I know it's a girl, confirmed from the amnio.
However, I didn't want to know so I can decorate and buy girlie or "boy" things. I wanted to know becuase this is a little person inside of me that has an identity. Many of you might think I'm strange, I'll admit, I know I am... but... I call her by name and reference everything coming up for her as well. I actually haven't bought one item, and will probably pick out neutral things as well. I definitely don't want my nursery to look like pepto bismol exploded
I would be HIGHLY upset if they told me one gender, and it turned out to be another. If they aren't 100%, they shouldn't say.... IMO

i don't know the numbers, but i would think that this is true - more boys probably get mistaken for girls because they are not so... prominent during the ultrasounds.

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
From what I was told in the past is that the tech is suppose to see one or the other...some times if the tech doesnt see a penis he/she will say that its a girl..for a girl they are suppose to see the labia and for a boy they are suppose to see a penis and testicles not just the testicles..(apparently girls can have swollen labia that can mimic testicles)
I finally understood this with my set of twins...it was like they were spread eagle or sitting on the toilet and I had a birds eye view...definitely labia!! I went with a girl friend of mine and we saw the testicles (big mass) and on top was a smaller mass (the penis) so definitely a boy..
I think in some cases there isnt this definitive answer and that is when its wrong..That was what it was with my eldest..the tech said "well I dont see a penis or testies..BUT..I wouldnt go painting anything pink" She was a girl.

Re: Wrong Sex Predicted
I don't see how they can say and then have it be a . If they see a weenie it doesn't just disappear. I guess it happens more the other way around.

Sorry to intrude on the board ladies, but I was just watching a baby story on TLC and they were having twins - predicted both boys and then they had two girls!

I have a cousin who thought she was having a girl, but it turns out her baby was born transgender (both sexes).
