WW people.. I have a question.

Do you count points for tea or coffee with skim milk (less than 1/4 cup)?
I have been counting it as 1 point but, at 2-3 cups a day and 26 points it cuts into my meals.

Only asking because I am sitting here after an AWFUL day and craving a cup but, I have my sister's birthday dinner tonight (although the meal is from skinnytaste) and I would love a tiny slice of cake. So I have to be careful with points today and I really don't even want to waste 1 point!. I was hoping to have 1/4 of a slice only. We shall see.

Re: WW people.. I have a question.

I usually count a point if I have more than 1 cup at the same time. I usually use fat free half and half in my coffee in the morning, which is zero for a serving (2 TB), but if I have 2 cups or more, I count at 1 pt. If I have skim milk, same, although sometimes I will split 1 cup of milk over 2-3 cups of coffee (milky coffee then equals a dairy serving).

If you have a cup in the morning with a splash of skim and then a cup in the afternoon with another splash, I probably wouldn't count it.

But more than 2 cups, even if throughout the day, I would add a point, because splashes of milk add up. And if I had 2 cups at the same time -- like with breakfast -- as opposed to 1 in the morning and 1 at night -- I would count a point.

But I tend to be conservative with point-counting!

As an aside - I usually drink tea without milk (I drink a lot of green tea, flavored white teas, etc.) and it's something great to have in the afternoon or night when I want something that will last awhile and is zero points. Esp in the cold weather!

WW people.. I have a question.

I don't count. In an entire day of coffee drinking I have about a total of 1/4 a cup. I'm still maintaing a 45lb weight loss. Before I was pregnant I had lost and kept off 60 lbs. A 1/4 cup of skim milk isn't going to make me gain weight. This is just me. I don't use my weeklies so AP so I guess it all evens out in the end.
If you're losing at a steady rate and not counting, then don't count. If you're gaining or not losing what you want, then I would count.

Okay. I am going to try counting it this week and see how I do. I count one point for each cup! I feel like that is a lot!

I definitely wouldn't count 1 point per cup!!! If I just have one cup of coffee a nonfat dairy product in it, I don't count it. I think that is depriving yourself of much needed points!

And if you are like Colleen and don't touch your weeklies, I'd let it slide. Even if you are using a point a day on milk in coffee or tea, that is only 1/7 of your weekly extras. I use all or almost all of the 49 a week, so I try to be vigilant with the daily total. And I am a coffee addict. Chat Icon

I don't use my weeklies on a daily basis. ON the superbowl I used them all but, stayed under 26 for the rest of the week.
Last night I used a few for my sister's birthday cake and I will likely use some for Valentine's day.

There are weeks where I use them all and weeks where I don't touch them.

I am actually nervous about valentine's dinner to the point where I don't want to go. DH and I went on our first date 10 years ago on V-Day. We don't usually go out because something came up on our wedding A this year and we feel like this a big number and we should. I don't want to ruin it with being upset about points. The only place I could think of to do was Grillfire and I am told they do hot pretzels and cotton candy with the meal. That sounds so dangerous to me. But, we wanted somewhere new. I really wanted something cozy and romantic but, I couldn't think of anything. If anyone has some rec's I would be thrilled. I can't think of anything else!!
