wwyd - regarding a nap situation

Please do not think I'm crazy for thinking this far in advance, if you know me at all, you know I'm a bigtime planner.

Tyler's Christening is on Sun March 21st.
My nephews 2nd birthday is the day before at 12pm. Pizza and cake - just family at my BILs house.

I don't want Jack to not nap on Saturday, and then be a total crankpot on Sunday when I truly need him to be well rested.

Would you just take him to my nephews birthday for an hour and then take him home for his regular scheduled nap? Or, skip the nap - stay at the party - and hope for the best at the Christening (Where he def. cannot nap that day!)

Marissa, if you are reading this, I know you will think I'm nuts - but I have to plan ahead. It's in my nature. Chat Icon

Re: wwyd - regarding a nap situation

Only *you* know your Jack Diana, so if you think he'll flip on Sunday I'd take pains to avoid that, since its a special occasion and you'll have your hands fullChat Icon
But is there any chance you can stay a little later at the party, say 90 minutes, then head home for his nap? Or would you be able to bring him to an empty room for his nap while at the party?? I have one niece who'll nap ANYWHERE and another who neeeeeeds her creature comforts (Elmo doll, pink pillow, an nightlight ON, in order of importance Chat Icon)
As long as your BIL and SIL won't get bent out of shape I don't think there would be any issue with attending then leaving early; I'm sure they'll know how much you have to do for the Christening the next day as wellChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I could stretch him until 2 - so leave there around 1:30ish. He would NEVER EVER nap anywhere besides his crib. The kid is a party animal Chat Icon

Re: wwyd - regarding a nap situation

Can you push his nap up? Like will he nap from 12-1:30/2? Then you can just go to the party a little late and miss the pizza, but be there for the cake and stay until the party is over?

That's exactly what I'd do. I'd stretch him until 2.

ETA: You're not crazy... DS is the exact same way so I would be planning this the same way as you Chat Icon
